Description

The fifth in the William Warwick series and the second one I have read, this one was hugely enjoyable. Born in the great country of England, he rose to become not only an honorable British citizen but also a politician. He has a way to introduce A Twist in the Tale ( no pun intended), but have always found his books fast paced having-meticulously planned plots, that hardly seems unreal. As I said, I'll be starting the series from the beginning and will then look forward to the next in line !

It also follows William's wife Beth, as she divests herself of a job she is no longer enjoying and sets herself up in business - with Christine! An outrider from the Special Escort Group swept into Scotland Yard, closely followed by a green Jaguar and an unmarked Land Rover, while two police motorcycles brought up the rear, completing the royal convoy.

They were a gift from a particularly unpleasant individual to his fiancée a few days after she had jilted him. He led his guest down a long corridor towards room 101, where another door was being held open for the royal visitor.

But then, as William reminded his guest, that was before the Met had begun to use fingerprinting to identify criminals, and more than a century before the discovery of DNA. Also featuring Richard Kane, the son of William Kane, this novel brings to life how the son sought to make it in life like his father.I whizzed through it, as it was fast paced and full of action, which kept me excited and eager to read on. It’s not exactly what the blurb bills it as, and I found the different threads of the narrative a little confusing, particularly in the first half. William Warwick is a chief police inspector, and, along with his team, he is sent to investigate the Royal Protection Unit who are protecting the Royal Family in England. The story is set in Bristol, England, from 1919 to 1940 and focuses on Harry Clifton, a younger boy destined to comply with inside the footsteps of his father and uncle paintings at the docks till a brand new global is spread out to him.

DISCLOSURE: Thank you to Harper Collins UK, Harper Fiction, via Netgalley for providing a digital ARC of Next in Line for review. I think that’s pretty much what she’s looking for,’ said Ross, as the lady-in-waiting climbed into the back of the car ahead of the Princess. It’s getting so monotonous that he had to go back in time and use Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana in the story to make it interesting.

Welcome to Scotland Yard, Your Royal Highness,’ he said, and was greeted with that warm, shy smile with which the public had become so familiar.
