About this deal

As Corey’s own murderous inner demons take over, Laurie and Michael will go knitting needle to butcher knife one last time for the ultimate horror franchise smackdown. There will be others who think they’ve cracked the code for a new Halloween and I'm sure we'll see the fourteenth film sooner than later.

Gore effects also get plenty of attention with the ghastly kills getting their due complete with oozy crimson blood work. Whatever your thoughts on Halloween Kills, it ended on an intriguing cliff-hanger – hinting at an evolution of evil, of how it had evolved past simply inhabiting the soul of a single man and now had been somehow released, alongside Myers’ own mortality and it promised much in terms of the final showdown with Laurie Strode as a result.

As an iconic final girl and beloved character, we predict this would have been a very hard sell for long-term fans. At the end of the day what we see here is another new trilogy that failed to live up to its potential. Like the image, it’s a good track that does what it’s asked to with the minimum of fuss, but also without the obligatory scenes of continued presence or ear-splitting bombast to lift this to the upper echelons of soundtrack glory.

Certainly not the ending Halloween fans wanted for Michael or Laurie, it appears that the desire to make Halloween more than it was has gotten in the way of it being simply what it should. She has no choice but to finally deal with the monster who has been such a huge influence on her life. For the week that ended on December 31st, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Halloween Ends finally took the top spot on the Blu-ray-only chart from Paramount Home Media Distribution's Top Gun: Maverick, ending the sequel's eight weeks in a row on top of that . Language And Audio: English DTS:X Master Audio / English DVS (Descriptive Video Services) / French Canadian DTS Digital Surround 5. He was either going to initially fall under Michael’s spell but ultimately break free – “he stuck his toe in the water and he stepped back,” as David puts it – or he was going to survive Halloween night and become Michael’s spiritual successor for good.We reviewed this Region free UK Ultra HD Blu-ray release on a JVC-DLA N5 Ultra HD 4K projector and a Panasonic DP-UB9000 Dolby Vision/HDR10 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. However the run up to the release of Halloween Ends in late 2022 also saw a new promise made – the final showdown of two of horror cinema’s greatest icons: Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney). so vital to this movie, enjoy a healthy gain to density and depth without crushing out critical details in low light situations. It's with this hate that he wants to inherit Myers's power somehow, but his crush on Laurie's granddaughter has him thinking twice. Special Features: Includes Blu-ray and a digital copy of Halloween Ends (2022) (Subject to expiration.

The film really works the quiet moments allowing big locations like the opening house plenty of atmosphere. However, there were two other ideas in mind for the last act, so let’s consider what a Halloween Ends alternative ending may have looked like. Halloween (2018) started on an exciting note only to lose its path with Halloween Kills and never recovered with this final chapter. When Corey wakes up in the tunnel and first meets Michael, the limited light sources and the dour color scheme are nice and creepy. Halloween Ends is typical of most studio horror films shot in the 21 st century – shot digitally on Arri Alexa cameras, with the anamorphic process used to mimic the original look and feel of the original films, resulting in a 4K digital intermediate.Because they don’t feature Jason Voorhees (being the main reason – let's be honest, there are more reasons both films somewhat suck). Instead it delivers very good levels of textural detail (the mother in her flapper costume at the film’s start has some beautiful detail on her 1920s costume) and resultant depth of image. And it’s another bog-standard major studio 4K release – a good transfer with extras that almost insult rather than inform/entertain.

Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing writing her memoir. Try as she might to hide her pain, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is haunted by the death of her daughter as she puts on a brave face to embrace life. It was a great way to bring Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie back after her unfortunately lame death in Halloween: Resurrection and reintroduce The Shape for a new generation of slasher fans. The commentary is intermittently interesting but, like the video extras, a little too self-aggrandising.

Fans will no doubt pick this up, but casual franchise fans will be best served waiting for the inevitable streaming release. It helps fill the soundscape without overpowering the elements while also punching up the LFE with those low pulsing tones. It's these elements that make Halloween Ends an unfunny mess that doesn't entertain, but instead, annoys and let-down. Ultimately, the film on its own has merits – a solid cast, handsome production values, another great John and Cody Carpenter score and some interesting themes being explored.
