With the trend toward higher-and-higher TDP hardware, the Torrent seems primed to capitalize on that, with a design that should offer more airflow than any other case I’ve tested yet – hence the name Torrent.

As for the sound, it's definitely not silent, but I guess that's hard to ask for with those giant fans and how much air they move. The reverse end is where the magic happens, offering all the cable management utilities and space for up to two 3. Don't care for the PSU mount--reminds me of very early ATX (and pre-ATX) motherboards that put the PSU up at the top!

On the other hand, if you love the look of the Torrent family you have to think that things are looking pretty darned great. Both spots have large air filters that are easily removable, and in our case, all fans come with RGB illumination. Outlets and voltage differ internationally and this product may require an adapter or converter for use in your destination. The original Torrent is a large case, this Compact is medium sized and the Nano is fairly tiny so it seems that Fractal Design has covered all the bases.

Indeed, we were so undecided we took a second look at the Torrent and concluded we had been correct in the first place that Torrent was interesting, effective and rather large for our tastes. Starting with the exterior, the chassis has a very aggressive look, with a striking front mesh panel and glass panels on both sides.That’s not cheap, at all, but it does come with a lot of kit including five large RGB-enabled fans and two glass panels. Another odd complication involving cables: Because of the power supply’s location up top, I was unable to route my PCIe cables from underneath the graphics card. Among other noteworthy improvements: the inclusion of two 8-Pin ATX12/EPS across the whole family, and internal upgrades like more strict over-current protection. Better yet is the fact that this chassis is designed to run quietly, delivering ample airflow to users without resorting to jet engine-like fan speeds. The PC market is changing, and Fractal believes that they have a new case design that’s perfect for today’s high-TDP graphics cards and the needs of the PC gaming market.

We are confident the better approach is to leave the 180mm fans alone, perhaps add an exhaust fan in the rear, and stick a simple air cooler on the CPU.
