Description

The EA500 comes with a standard 2-pin silver-plated OFC cable. The exterior of the cable is super nice, again, it looks like the budget world is finally on board with excellent quality cables these days and I couldn’t be happier. It gives more shimmer and sizzle on the cymbals strikes to give a good airy extension (for a single DD). However, when you feed it with more power, it sounded even better, tighter bass, and a little more punch, also sounded more open, this is when i turned on the gain+ mode on Earmen Angel, feeding it with 7.2 vrms via the SE out and extracting more “sonic performance” out from the EA500, impressive scalability A huge stage and Vocals listen for excellent separation and stage, Vocals at 1:38 and female 2:38 and micro-dynamics

Ah, it appears there is a duplicitous reason for this dearth of information. Two of the four tuning switches are useless! Even though there are a purported four distinct signatures on paper, as seen from independently measured graphs, only two variants of a V-shaped profile exist. The headphone cavity is processed through high-density alloy metal melting & casting and CNC fine engraving. The body is sturdy and durable. The inner surface is subtle uneven, which can effectively suppress standing wave and provide a clear sound floor.Complemented by mirror plating technology, the earphone body is elegant as an art piece. If there is only one tunable DD king at the budget segment, the Simgot EA500 easily take the throne. Vs. DUNU Titan S In general sound/speaker stage dimensions, it has an above average width, decent height reach and sufficient depth on its perceived position between front to rear. It gives me a good head room with its more concave presentation as it has more depth in front.

SIMGOT EA500 Review - Audio Science Review (ASR) Forum

Final takeaway: I has been a very long time when reviewing a IEM where I just zoned out because I was enjoying the music and forgot I have something in my ears. When listening to the EA500 that happened more than once. That’s a very powerful statement and the ultimate testimonial to how much I enjoy these IEM's. Red ring nozzle - less darker, smoother and clearly more articulate, similar texture with lyrical type of baritone, "Noble Baritone". The EA500 boast superior technicalities, with a slightly wider soundstage, better imaging, micro-detailing, instrument separation, and micro-details. They cost about 2-3x the price of the D-Fi. Vs. TRI Star River Frequency response graph of the Star River via an IEC711-compliant coupler. 8kHz is a coupler artifact peak.

The gain of the low and mid frequencies slightly increases the bass, drums, and fundamental parts of vocal and instrumental sounds, but the magnitude is not very large. The gain of the mid and high frequencies increases the volume of breathing in vocals and high-frequency percussion instruments, and the spatial sensation above becomes more open. It's good for some songs with normal loudness, but for people like me who are sensitive to high frequencies, it may have too much high frequency feeling for loud dance music.

I rate the comfort levels high, due to its stature and dimensions being so small. But for me, I cannot get a good fit with them even with 3rd party ear tip replacements that I have on hand.

It plays nice with cheap sources and middle-tier ones, I like the EA500 on my Hidizs AP80 portables and my TempoTec V6. On driver coherency, you will be able to gauge that SIMGOT uses a high-quality DLC diaphragm dynamic driver as it delivers a faster transient response without any sort of being out of phase or distortion sounding.

Details seem to be a bit more illuminated on the Olina but please don’t confuse my words… both sets bring upon macro and micro details very well. Soundstage goes to the EA500, without question. I hear matching widths and close in height with the EA500 sounding a bit taller and certainly deeper in its replay. The EA500 sounds more 3D, which is saying something because the Olina has a fantastic stage. Both imaging and separation is great on both sets. At a lowly 16Ω, the EA500 requires no amplifier or even a powerful portable source to max out its potential. Extra juice does nothing for this model and piping in a ton of wattage is a really bad idea. Seriously though, this is where I insert the “take it like a grain of salt” reference. Also, what’s true to one person may not be true to the next, let’s try to remember that. You may not think this blurb has anything to do with the iem I am reviewing but I beg to differ. This set ‘was’ and ‘is’ hyped to the moon, flim-flam was spread far and wide. Everyone is always right I thought it was actually a really cool design for a portable music player, with those slight curves on the top left and bottom right, but the top right and bottom left were standard right angles! Hey, SIMGOT! Design a portable music player that looks like that for me!

The EA500 boasts an exceptional treble response, with a bright and airy sound. The highs are well-refined, and percussion instruments are presented with remarkable clarity without sacrificing balance.
