Description

The Times in London helped spread Sudoku to Western culture by publishing its first daily sudoku in 2004.

Tip 1: Look for rows, columns of 3×3 sections that contain 5 or more numbers. Work through the remaining empty cells, trying the numbers that have not been used. In many cases, you will find numbers that can only be placed in one position considering the other numbers that are already in its row, column, and 3×3 grid. Tip 2: Break the grid up visually into 3 columns and 3 rows. Each large column will have 3, 3×3 grids and each row will have 3, 3×3 grids. Now, look for columns or grids that have 2 of the same number. Logically, there must be a 3rd copy of the same number in the only remaining 9-cell section. Look at each of the remaining 9 positions and see if you can find the location of the missing number.Although both number puzzles share a lot of similarities, there’s also a major difference – amount of arithmetics involved. Killer Sudoku is one of the hottest logic puzzles these days. Even though the word “killer” in its name implies some sort of insane difficulty, don’t let it scare you off. In many cases Killer Sudoku is much easier and more fun to play than its fellow puzzle – the classic Sudoku. This makes easy Killer Sudoku puzzles an incredible fit for beginners. In addition, there is a “double” tactic. This tactic is characterized by the fact that in a row, column, or in a small square, you can still place only two possible numbers. But you do not know which one to put. The idea is that you make a mark about it and exclude it from further decision. This reduces the number of options to solve, and it becomes easier to solve the puzzle. The same can be done for three digits. This tactic is called a “triplet” or “triple”.
