Description

I'm going to do my best here to describe things, but you might not believe me unless you experience the PSA and CGC slabs for yourself.

In this piece I’m not going to go into what I believe to be the shortcomings of other companies, it’s merely to provide you with my opinion on where you should grade your Pokemon cards in the UK. Cards in this category are graded on the PSA Scale between 1 and 10, with 10 being a perfect card and 1 being a fair to poor card. All PSA graded cards come encapsulated in tamper evident PSA cases to preserve your cards and help them maintain their awesome conditions. The grade of each card in this section is clearly evident in the item titles and descriptions so please do shop with confidence. CGC– Has a long history in grading comic books, and has naturally transitioned to Pokemon cards in recent yearsThis past year has seen unprecedented demand for Pokemon card grading services. As such wait times have never been longer. However there is another trusted company called Ludkins Collectables that although remain closed for submissions, hopefully when PSA reinstate cheaper tier levels, they will open again too. What to Expect From a PSA Return Discovering the grades help you to identify the value of your cards, and whether you’re building a collection, or putting them up for sale, it means you take action!

The PSA slabs are thinner. They don't look noticeably thinner, but they feel thinner. In case you couldn't determine in the above image, the slab on the left was PSA and the slab on the right was CGC. Like I said, the thinness isn't a huge deal, but it is something noticeable to the touch. Ultimately, it comes down to you as a collector. If you like the idea of simply having your cards graded, protected and scored, then absolutely go for it and try these new companies.

The Grading Comparison Between Pokémon Cards

Their slab designs are understated, yet classy– it’s all about the card, not the slab, and I feel that other grading companies have failed to realise this Certainly for older and rarer Pokemon cards, Pokemon card values have increased exponentially in recent times. Personally I believe the best view to take is that you are encapsulating an investment piece for the future. Try not to worry too much about the wait times 🙂 How to Submit Your Pokemon Cards For Grading

This secrecy, at the very least, can prove confusing to collectors who receive lower grades than they expected. At the more extreme end, over the years there have been accusations of the companies missing trimmed or altered cards, or, more seriously, about the major companies deliberately undergrading popular cards. To me, both cards look to be in great condition. I personally can't tell the difference between the two cards and cards that received a 10.0 grade. While I'll never know why the PSA card graded like it did, at least CGC gives me a little more insight with the subgrades. First let me tell you about my own personal experiences with CGC and PSA. My PSA Experience with Pokémon CardsResale Values– Despite being new to the market, do they have the potential to add value to your cards It’s a product that I’m really proud of, solves my own problem and I hope gives you an affordable option to display your Pokemon cards beautifully on a shelf or desk. 4.
