The only thing I didn’t really enjoy with this book was the cameo POV chapters from the main characters’ parents. Because this was my first book by this author, I had no idea who these people were. I had to look up her past work to verify that I was missing something. I think these chapters will be very nostalgic for longtime readers, but as a new reader they felt like unnecessary filler and it took me out of the story. Also some of the characters have names I didn’t love but I got over it eventually lol The most recent work to make use of the Sons of Malice, the novel Cadia Stands by Justin D. Hill, no longer makes any reference to the Warp entity Malice being worshipped or serving as the divine patron among the Sons of Malice. I'd say the enemies to lovers trope goes deep between Glyndon and Killian, but even that might be an understatement because Glyn could shout from every rooftop about how much she hated Killian. But he was so unbothered by it and kept on with his day. In any case, Malice's relationship to the other gods of Chaos is a strange one. All Chaos Gods pursue purposes that are wholly their own, yet only Malice occupies a position so antithetical to the success of his own unfathomable creed. To be a follower of Malice is to be a Chaos warrior bent upon shedding the blood of other Chaos creatures. how, um, f0rceful Killian could be. He doesn’t like the word no 👀. If he wants something, he’s gonna take it 😬. The opening scene is n0nc0n, then we get some dubc0n ones, but for the most part, Glyndon was along for the ride 😉Nikolai and Brandon: are actually going to be the first MM romance I'm going to read! Despite the fact that this book didn't have the best plot, and Killian and Glen probably won't be my favorite couple, I still liked them. Im obsessed with psycho heroes so how could I not liked this book? killian exhibited all the signs but tell me why i still didn't believe in it 🤣😭 there must be something wrong in my brain for me to actually think killian is the most softest and tamest psycho i have ever read about... don't go through my dark and dirty bookshelf you'll think i'm insane.
