Description

Finally, the Death Guard heed Abaddon’s call, with an obdurate if slimy Boarding Patrol led by a Lord of Virulence. He’s joined by a bodyguard of three Deathshroud Terminators, as well as 10 versatile Plague Marines – three of which are taken from the much-sought-after Plague Marine Reinforcements set. The sons of Mortarion are ready to fumigate their local voidcraft with this bloated Boarding Patrol led by a putrid Lord of Virulence, his three sworn Deathshroud Terminators, and 10 incredibly sturdy Plague Marines who benefit from a corrupted cornucopia of weapon options. Boarding Patrol: Genestealer Cults Chaos Daemons have – appropriately, given the arrival of Angron – manifested as a huffing and slavering crash of Khornate nightmares. 10 Bloodletters and 10 Flesh Hounds are led by Khorne’s favourite hunter – Karanak, the Hound of Vengeance. In the cramped confines of a space hulk, these frenzied killers will close the distance between enemy guns with warp-flushed speed and savagery. These dynamic new sculpts of Faramir, Madril, and Damrod, Rangers of Ithilien were first found in the incredible The Lord of the Rings™ Battle of Osgiliath boxed set. These versatile and mighty heroes are now available together in their own box, each with a choice of ruins or wooded scenery for their base. Gothmog™, Lieutenant of Sauron™

Chaos Daemons have – appropriately, given the arrival of Angron – manifested as a huffing and slavering crash of Khornate nightmares. 10 Bloodletters and 10 Flesh Hounds are led by Khorne’s favourite hunter – Karanak, the Hound of Vengeance. In the cramped confines of a space hulk, these frenzied killers will close the distance between enemy guns with warp-flushed speed and savagery. But what are the best value Boarding Patrols for the money? You can actually save quite a bit of money with some of these (assuming that these models are the models you want). I wasn’t too enthusiastic about the Space Marine Boarding Action because it basically seemed like you were buying Heavy Intercessors and Assault Intercessors, and got an HQ unit free. Good if you like it, but kinda bland. But the other boxes, which have been announced but are not yet available for sale, look like really great values. What are the Best Value Boarding Patrols? Skaven are ascendent in Guy Haley’s The Rise of the Horned Rat . Verminlords stalk the World-that-Was, and two rival kings prepare to face the full force of Queek Headtaker’s verminous horde in the fourth book of the End Times series, which is heading to audiobook next week. Wrath of The Lost

Bring even bigger guns to bear in the Age of Darkness with the Typhon Heavy Siege Tank. Designed to suit the battleplans of Perturabo himself, this modified Land Raider sports a frankly massive dreadhammer siege cannon that can reduce buildings to rubble and flatten whole squads. Exodus – The One Who Is Many If we cannot deliver the goods within this time we will tell the consumer immediately and agree on another time for delivery. Towards the end of the Horus Heresy, Legions on both sides – but Traitors with by far the most enthusiasm – began to field Esoterists in their armies, Librarians who had dabbled in forbidden lore. Tapping into the power of the warp, these Space Marines use the empyrean as a weapon, tearing holes in reality to fling arcane bolts at their foes and summon hordes of howling daemons. Raven Guard MKVI Upgrades This versatile Boarding Patrol comprises a Tech-Priest Dominus and their loyal bodyguard of 10 Skitarii Vanguard, who can also be built as Rangers. You’ll also find a cadre of five Sicarian Infiltrators – who can also be built as Ruststalkers – and a trio of heavily armed Kataphron Destroyers – which can also be built as Breachers. Boarding Patrol: Chaos Daemons The Death Guard box is interesting, because it’s a really low relative value, but it actually has some good stuff in it. Normally Death Guard boxes are filled with Poxwalkers, and though I do like Poxwalkers, this is better. But it’s low value.Genestealer Cults propagate across the galaxy by stowing away in transport vessels and settling in for the long haul, or forcefully commandeering ships. This skilled insurgent team is made up of a Kelemorph, an Abominant, five Aberrants, and 10 Acolyte Hybrids – who can also be built as Hybrid Metamorphs. Imperial Knights Dice Set and Chaos Knights Dice Set Alongside these, the Space Marine Boarding Patrol that’s out now, and the three further sets recently announced for the Necrons, Tyranids, and Grey Knights, there are even more boxes to come for other factions in the 41st Millennium. Lead your invasion with the Lord of Virulence, clad in his warped Terminator armor, as he reduces whole corridors of enemies to a foul sludge with his twin plague spewer and plague claw. As he advances, he's guarded by three silent Deathshroud Bodyguard – brutal elites wearing Terminator armor and armed with sweeping scythes and vile plaguespurt gauntlets. In their wake follow 10 Plague Marines, toughened and festering warriors with an array of contaminated wargear suited to both melee and close firefights. The Boarding Patrol: Death Guard set provides a relentlessly tough force of Death Guard infantry, perfectly suited to destroying enemies in games of Warhammer 40,000. The models are especially useful in the dense and deadly Boarding Action missions featured in the Arks of Omen series. The kit is cost-effective, offering a great way to expand your army and save money on the individual models. The only problem? Everyone else wants in on the action, and now the whole galaxy is boarding the Arks of Omen in search of glory, treasure, or just a big punch-up. In fact, four more Boarding Patrol boxes are preparing for launch in the near future – and only one of them might be said to have the Emperor’s best interests at heart…

Well, the value is pretty decent, but again, it comes down to whether you need the units inside. If you don’t need a single unit, the box value goes way down. However, if you need everything inside, you get the 10 Acolyte Hybrids for close to free! This one is strange because a lot of the value comes from the Plague Marines, and considering the reinforcements box is so expensive for three minis; it’s hard to say. This box can be used to assemble a variety of units – the recommended build for Boarding Action games is a Lord of Virulence, two units of five Plague Marines, and three Deathshroud.

I think that the whole concept of Boarding Patrols is weird, and I think it goes along with my feelings of the current Kill Team campaign: it seems like it wants to be Space Hulk for all the factions, but they have never gone full Space Hulk (Terminators vs Genestealers.) I suppose if you bought two of these Boarding Patrols, you could come up with Terminators vs Genestealers Space Hulk battle, but only on a limited scale. Anyway, it seems weird. Finally, a box without a ton of Poxwalkers! This box is pretty solid as you get a lot of troops but not a giant number of models overall. If you missed it, we look at the latest pricing and values of the new Warhammer 40k box sets in separate posts below: This versatile box provides bodies, ballistics, and big-hitters for you to join the eternal quest to uncover archeotech and fragments of holy STC from the ancient Arks of Omen. Four new 40k Boarding Patrol boxes have been revealed by GW, this time for Adeptus Mechanicus, Daemons, Genestealer Cults , and Death Guard!Though masters of subterfuge and disguise, the Alpha Legion nevertheless had their own heraldry when waging war. Outfit your troops with helmets and shoulders that feature the intricate patterns and writhing hydra motif of the XX Legion. Character Heads Upgrade Sets Represent your chosen steeds in battle – be they Noble or Fallen – with one of these sets of 15 dice. Both feature a helmed icon on the 6 face, and Imperial Knights get a two-tone blue dice with silvery pips, while the Chaos Knights get a two-tone red dice with golden pips. Lead your invasion with the Lord of Virulence, clad in his warped Terminator armour, as he reduces whole corridors of enemies to a foul sludge with his twin plague spewer and plague claw. As he advances, he’s guarded by three silent Deathshroud Bodyguard – brutal elites wearing Terminator armour and armed with sweeping scythes and vile plaguespurt gauntlets. In their wake follow 10 Plague Marines, toughened and festering warriors with an array of contaminated wargear suited to both melee and close firefights. Bloated with corruption and sworn to Grandfather Nurgle’s service, the disgusting, rotted bodies of the Death Guard stink of decay, the joints of their armour dribbling putrescent slime that corrodes metal and burns flesh. These horrific disfigurements only enhance their skill as killers – each of Mortarion’s sons is a fearsome warrior who brings death and infection wherever they tread. To discover any foe lurking within a space hulk is a worrying thought, but the Death Guard’s presence is the stuff of nightmares. The Adeptus Mechanicus box is a surprisingly high value despite the fact that it’s filled with nothing interesting.
