Description

If you’re using a cup make sure your hands are clean and bring a reusable water bottle into the toilet (or bush!) with you so you can rinse your cup off even if there’s no sink. You can also buy cup wipes or use a sterilising tablet (like what you’d use for a baby bottle) in a foldable cup. DAME’s reusable applicator meets the highest levels of safety and hygiene. It is made from medical grade Mediprene with inbuilt antimicrobial properties to keep it actively clean. This means caring for your applicator is easy. After each use, simply rinse under the cold tap and wipe with a tissue or a towel, ensuring it’s completely dry. In between uses, keep the lid on and store a DAME cotton zip wallet or bathroom storage tin.

BUILD AND HEIGHT: If you are tall and/or have a large build, you will need a bigger size; if you are short and/or petite, you will need a smaller size. On average, a menstruating person throws away 115 – 135kg of pads, tampons and applicators away in their lifetime. Menstrual products that are properly disposed of (put in the bin and not flushed!) create 200,000 tonnes of landfilled waste every year in the UK. The break-down of these products in landfill contributes to the production of greenhouse gases, just like other bio-waste. Menstrual cups are soft, flexible cups made of medical-grade silicone, TPE or latex rubber. Menstrual cups are worn internally, by folding and inserting the cup in a similar way to a tampon. Instead of absorbing your blood, like a tampon or pad, the cup catches it and you can empty it down the toilet. Menstrual cups hold more blood than your average tampon so you shouldn’t need to empty it as regularly as you would change a tampon. The applicator’s shape is very simplistic and meant to hold the cup inside when folded. I haven’t had a chance to try this yetSize B (for those under the age of 30 and who have not given birth vaginally), 43mm x 50mm, hold 28.8ml Yes, absolutely! Period pants are one of the most comfortable period products on the market and their shape makes them secure from leaks.

Hi, I'm Amanda (she/they), the human behind Put A Cup In It, a revolutionary platform breaking taboos surrounding periods and empowering individuals to make informed choices about their menstrual health. Dedicated to making information approachable and accessible, I have been a vocal advocate in the realm of menstrual health for more than a decade. And with a focus on sustainability, Put A Cup In It is the leading resource for comprehensive and inclusive period education. You might’ve heard of Mooncup or Divacup, which are some of the longer-standing brands, but high street brands such as Boots and Tampax have also now developed menstrual cups of their own. The antimicrobial elements in the applicator are called Sanipolymers. The Sanipolymers leverage the trace element zinc which naturally staves off bacteria, germs and microbes by at least 99.9%. So without you doing anything at all, the Sanipoymers are continuously working to keep the applicator clean. It’s been run through rigorous, independent scientific tests to prove its effectiveness (ISO 22196 and KIS Z2801)That’s where the Pixie Cup Applicator comes in, an innovative tool to enhance control and positioning during cup insertion. In this blog post, we’ll explore the features and benefits of the Pixie Cup Applicator, explaining how it can simplify your period routine while maintaining safety and comfort. Introducing the Pixie Cup Applicator Period blood shouldn’t have a strong odour. With disposable products, the plastic and perfumes create an anaerobic (no air) environment, which can often lead to an increase in bacteria and an unpleasant odour. Many period pants are cotton or bamboo, and so they’re very breathable! Reusables can actually be more practical when you’re living outdoors because you don’t have to worry about finding a bin for your disposable tampons and pads. However, they can pose new challenges depending on the type of washing facilities that are available!

Menstrual Cups With Applicators - Put A Cup In It

Why we love it: This reusable bell-shaped silicone cup is made to sit comfortably in the vaginal canal, providing up to 12 hours of support while you dance, swim, sleep or just go about your day as usual. In fact, the Lena cup is so comfortable, you'll forget it's there in the first place. There is still a need to consider the longevity of products like period underwear, and what happens at the end of their useable life. A menstrual cup is a small flexible silicone or rubber cup that you insert into your vagina to collect your flow during your period.

Our impact

If you’ve landed on the menstruation side of social media, you’ve likely heard about a new period cup with an applicator — and the internet has thoughts. So let’s talk about it! First, What’s A Menstrual Cup? All components – wrappers, applicators and used tampons – must be placed in a bin unless they specify that they can go into your home-composter or recycling (cardboard boxes and paper wrappers).
