Way to strong, way to overwhelming. I love strong scents, longlasting perfums, but this is just way to nuclear. I wear it usually (as a woman) in the winter and fall time, because the cinnamon note is so gorgeous on my skin and I find more appealing the EdT version in comparison to the EdP or Perfume versions, they are just too intoxicating for me. Smells of doctor pepper and a mix of cough medicine. In fairness it was a gift to me. Instant headache and overpowering. You may like the scent but personally not for me. I believe this is still the best fragrance to use while wearing a pink shirt. In Spring and cooler Summer. Not in the Tropics for sure. It might poise a beach. And for certain not on an airplane. My two fishing buddies and me have a bit of a tradition of applying a wee dab of 'Spice' before heading out fly fishing on the local rivers. This possibly explains our dismal success rate at landing many trout?The iconic pink fragrance seems to be an artifact from a bygone era — a luxury in the eyes of our parents' generation. As divisive as it is enduring, this fragrance could easily be considered the Paco Rabanne 1 Million of the 90s. However, its legacy is a mixed bag of sensations and sentiments.

Despite its overwhelming synthetic nature, the fragrance's notes are easily noticeable. Unfortunately, they are shrouded in an artificiality that makes even its leather accord smell like plastic. This contributes to its aura of inexpensiveness, shattering any high expectations one might associate with the brand or the era it hails from.

Joop! Homme is a very sensual, oriental fragrance with fresh citrus topnotes of mandarin, lemon, bergamot and orange blossom. The floral heart is very warm and balmy, revealing jasmine, lily of the valley, heliotrope and cinnamon. The exotic base introduces sweet and woodsy notes of vanilla, Tonka bean, patchouli and sandalwood. The fragrance was created by Michel Almairac in 1989. I am female, and with my body chemistry, this (at least in its 2020-or-so reformulation) is a pleasant, warm, sugary heliotrope with a cinnamon-tobacco-woody base, best for cool-weather wear. Like it but don't looove it. I was "around" in the 1990s, but no one I knew wore it, and I have no particular scent-memory of it.

When you First spray Joop! on, you get a very strong and "in your nose" citrus blast, full of bergamont and lemons, and sweetened up by cinnamon. Its a refreshing start, just like jumping in a pool for the first time. Then after a few minutes (5-15 minutes), it becomes really sweet, and by sweet i mean the cinnamon start getting stronger and the florals start blossoming on your skin. Heliotrope gives it that "cherry pie" smell while jasmine gives it a sultry feel to it, with orange blossom keeping it warm and spicy. The drydrown starts in about an hour or two after application, here is my FAVORITE PART. Behind the middle floral, warm, balmy notes, vanilla starts to make its angelic entrance by putting the notes where they belong before it shows itself. This phase is EXTREMELY SEXY AND INTOXICATING. The vanilla here is the icing on the "cake" this scent is. Honey and tobacco come to linger, giving it a mature masculine edge, which is what keeps you sniffing around yourself trying to inhale it all in. After 4-6 hours, it softens up, gets cuddly and soft after being dominant and powerful, just like how i interpret myself sometimes (personal refernce to add fondness). Its leaves a smooth vanilla honey tobacco combo on your skin that lasts and lasts till you shower.

Even still in 2023 the younger generations continue to be attracted to this. It's incredible work and marketing by Joop, make a sweet smelling, mass appealing fragrance to every young man in the world and sell it cheap for as many years/decades possible...ching ching.

Everyone needs a bottle of this for self defense. Wear it around your enemies and it will act as a literal barrier preventing anyone from coming near you. Only wear this to events that either you hate or have people that you dont like attending them. I'd describe Joop Homme as a synthetic candied sweet scent, dare i say kind of sensual / sexy. It reminds me of the New Retro Wave style that gained some popularity lately both in music and image. Unique for sure, i found nothing similar to this. It is very sweet but not cloying or heavy. Personally i don't get many aspects of this fragrance that others get. I don't identify it as spicy or vanillic nor do i find it particularly warm. I'd still recommend it for winter use, atleast from the wearers perspective. All i get is candy and florals. The juice color is bang on, best way i can describe this: its a lollipop made into a fragrance. I don't think its old school or dated and its masculine despite the "candiness". I think the problem is not the strong performance, but the scent. Is very very very heavy, all the notes are very potent. Overall this is a nice affordable fragrance. If you love cinnamon and orange blossom, you should definitely give it a try. It has now dried down to a lovely soft, sweet vanilla & honeyed tobacco base, that reminds me of Godet Mondanité. Smelling it 30 years later, I now get the impression that JOOP! HOMME was influenced by Dior POISON (femmes original). The sweet fruity/purply base mixed with sharper midrange aromatics is somewhat similar in mood to POISON, I think.I own a 5ml splash miniature of this. I've been wearing it for a year...I believe I've worn this for about 30 to 40 times until now and my mini-bottle is still HALF-FULL(exactly 50%). I have yet to find a woman that does not love this one on me. First sniff from the bottle may be traumatic, but once they smell it on my skin, they change their minds. It’s a sweet fragrance, that can absolutely be worn by women as well as men, I would even go as far as to say that it leans more feminine than masculine, at least on my skin, but my skin does tend to enhance sweet notes in fragrances. This marks my second review of the previously repulsive Joop! Homme. In my original review I talked about my disappointment that I wasnt completely in love with this fragrance, mostly due to a strange urine note I was detecting (fatal error on my part as I had a cold when I sampled it and so my nose wasnt working properly.)
