Uswitch Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under firm reference number 312850. The Pixel 6 Pro ships with Android 12, which has been completely reimagined with the new Material You UI. Google also worked in several exclusive features for the Pixel 6 lineup. The Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro offer very similar designs, though the Pro model offers a slightly more premium finish with a curved display, as well as a triple rear camera compared to the Pixel 6, while the Pixel 6 offers a more premium finish than the Pixel 6a. The Pixel 6 Pro has a 50MP main camera and 12MP ultra-wide camera as well as a 48MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom. Despite many opportunities for distortion in this shot, the ultrawide lens avoided them (Photo: Steven Winkelman) In terms of features, all three offer many of the same features - Magic Eraser, Real Tone, Face Unblur, Night Sight, Cinematic Pan and Portrait mode, to name a few. In fact, the only feature the Pixel 6a doesn't offer that the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro do is Motion Blur. We found it to be one of the sharpest-looking displays we’ve seen on a smartphone in 2021. Its 512 pixels per inch is a rarity on smartphones with QHD displays, and we’ve only seen it beaten by handsets like the Sony Xperia 1 IV with its 4K screen. On the bottom edge of the handset is the USB-C port, flanked on either side by the speakers. On the right-hand edge of the phone are the power button and the volume buttons.Bands 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(AWS-1), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700 a), 13(700 c), 14(700 PS), 20(800 DD), 25(1900+), 26(850+), 28(700 APT), 29(700 d), 30(2300 WCS), 32(1500 L-band), 66(AWS-3), 71(600)

The Pixel 6 Pro’s battery life is passable – it’ll see you through a full day of typical use, but not much more. It comes with fast-charging and wireless charging technology, but neither of these are particularly impressive either. The 50MP main shooter, which has an f/1.9 aperture and 1.2µm pixels is the camera you’ll likely be using the most. We found it was able to take high-res photos with good detail and true-to-life colors. For more, see our story comparing the Pixel's camera with the iPhone 13 Pro and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The Best Android Flagship You Can Buy Magic Eraser is another big new software upgrade, which you access through the gallery element of the app. It’s designed to let you remove subjects that you don’t want to be included in your photos – for example, photo bombers. n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n28, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n71, n77, n78, n258, n260, n261, Sub-6, mmWave

The battery capacity is 4,905mAh, which seems suitable for a smartphone of this size. Google also says you’re able to eke out 48 hours of usage using its Extreme Battery Saver mode. We’ve yet to test that, and we don’t think you’ll be able to do a great deal with the smartphone in that mode, but it’ll likely come in handy in an emergency.

While you may not be able to buy it direct from Google anymore since the launch of the Pixel 7 series, it's still widely available from a number of networks (see the table above). When is the Google Pixel 6 Pro out? This much cheaper alternative to the Pixel 6 Pro gives you the same user interface, and a similar design, but with corners cut in quite a few areas to lower the price. The Pixel 6 Pro is the first phone from the company to run on Google’s own silicon rather than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets. The chipset here is called Google Tensor. The Pixel 6 Pro has a Quad HD+ resolution at 3120 x 1440 pixels, offering a pixel density of 512ppi, and there is a variable refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz. Don’t let those benchmarking scores put you off; the Google Pixel 6 Pro is still a powerful phone, and the Tensor chipset isn’t a poor choice. We like the design of the Google Pixel 6 Pro, and you’ll get a good idea of whether or not you’re going to like it from the photos you can see above alone. The primary and ultra-wide lenses capture solid image in any light. Our daylight test photos have crisp foregrounds and excellent depth of field. We noticed some loss of fine detail in photos with direct light and, overall, the metering system leans toward slight underexposure. The Pixel 6 Pro also supports Wi-Fi 6E. In our Wi-Fi tests, it averaged speeds of 501Mbps down and 47Mbps up at a distance of 10 feet from a 802.11AX router on Verizon's 5G home internet. The Pixel 6 Pro's combination of new sensors, lenses, software tweaks, and Tensor processor keep Google firmly planted at the top of the smartphone camera game.

Comparing the Google Tensor processor with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform, a common SoC for other flagships, is a difficult task. At the heart of it, Google and Qualcomm have different ideas about what a flagship SoC should be: Google created the Tensor processor specifically to fulfill the needs of its Pixel handsets, while the Snapdragon 888 SoC functions as an out-of-the-box option for manufacturers across the globe. The Tensor processor allows Google to focus exclusively on the features and experiences it believes Pixel owners want.

And while benchmarks fail to provide meaningful results for typical use scenarios, the Pixel 6 Pro still manages to impress. On Geekbench 5, an artificial benchmark that quantifies raw performance, the phone scored 1,027 single-core (SC) and 2,777 multi-core (MC). For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra scored 1,128 SC and 3,500 MC, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max scored 1,721 SC and 4,629 MC on the same test. Pixel-Perfect Android 12 The good news is that the company has created another powerful camera setup here, and we’ve found it to be far more versatile than on previous Pixel phones, with more options to play around with. The Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro all share a similar design, though there are some variations between the three models, as you would expect.
