The illustrations in this book are so fun & vibrant. I really enjoyed the message that people, or creatures in this book, come in all shapes & sizes. This is a great book for kids to learn about trying new things and making unexpected friends! This cute book is great for children who struggle with new adventures - moving, trying new things or making friends. Betty moves to a new home and finds out that things are a bit different and a little scary- even the foods they eat. But her new neighbor helps her to realize that facing new things is easier if you have a friend to help you along the way. The Yeti family moved from a snowy mountain to a human neighborhood. Betty is dealing with being scared of new things. Boil your yeti until the spaghetti and the tofu are both cooked through. Try to do this at a gentle simmer, as a hard boil will send your yeti tumbling dangerously. I know that yetis are rugged enough to survive most avalanches, but they're naturally found in cold climates; at higher temperatures they become much more fragile. This was seriously adorable, Betty was so precious. I really e annoyed the story progression how she went from being scared and shy with the new surrounding to making a human friend. Betty didn’t like new things, didn’t want to experience or learn new things but she does and she struggles with that, mama yeti is kind and understanding, which I adored seeing. Change is hard in children and I liked how it was depicted in the story.A very cute little tale about moving to a new city, trying new things and making friends!
