Description

I sold my gameboy micro a long time ago and always regretted it. Now this little handheld fills the void perfectly. I’ll get something else when I want to play higher end systems but as a Genesis/SNES/GBA machine it works great for me. Reply Due to the different monitor and light effect, the actual color of the item might be slightly different from the color showed on the pictures. Thank you!

Issues With Loading Save States (GB/GBC/GBA/NES/Some Arcade...Other Platforms Were Fine. This Will Likely Be Fixed In The Future But with a few concept images leaked over the holidays, it would seem that Trimui aims to go a bit larger with their next few consoles. Looking at the console itself, you get the typical A, B, X, Y buttons, D-pad and then along the bottom the Select, Menu and Start buttons. On the top edge, you get the left and right shoulder buttons. There is also a small speaker on the right, just below the face buttons, as well as a micro SD card slot, USB-C charging port and a very small On/Off switch. As per usual, we’re keeping an eye out. It’s still quite early on this one. But with the pace of things in 2022, it’s safe to say that things will go pretty wild in 2023. GLOBAL TRANSIT TIMES: The following are estimates only, but should give you a sense of what to expect:Unfortunately, the 320×240 resolution on the IPS LCD display never fits quite right. The GameBoy Advance is always my starting point for these handhelds, and it ran at 240×160. The problem, for those who don’t spend way too much time thinking of these sorts of things, is that you want to be able to scale an image up in whole numbers to keep things looking as accurate as possible. If you doubled the dimensions of a GBA image to 480×320, then each pixel of the original image could just become 4 pixels in the new version and it would effectively look the same. Without a whole value to multiple, things get muddied and weird. Sound quality is good, even though the console only has one small speaker to the bottom right. I was really surprised by how loud the TRIMUI Smart could be with not a great deal of distortion at top levels. On SNES, I ran into those same issues along with visual glitches that seemed to have to do with transparency and layering in the game. Think of a JRPG menu causing the whole screen to get random static on it when it opens up. Annoying, for sure, but it never made things unplayable and only happened in some games. The Firmware Wrapper Even the GameBoys before the Advance ran at 160×144, so even that image can’t quite be doubled on the Trimui Smart’s screen. Emulation Evaluations bug fix: LCD driver for screen tearing (fix bug from Linux kernel, only support USB Factory Recovery)

Ooooo I'm getting nostalgic just reading this Article. I remember over 10 years ago when I first got into Obscure… Fix Emu ext name filter, Notice: old Emus items which did not contain full ext description will turn out empty roms scanning. Please update to the latest SD content patch. Finally, the Trimui Smart features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to enable multiplayer play between devices. This is an absolutely awesome feature in a device like this, and they were kind enough to send me two of them to try it out… but I never got it to work. Final Thoughts Screen Issues Using integer scaling means the image is actual size on a pixel by pixel basis at which point this screen is even smaller than the GameBoy Micro

MinUI is a focused, custom launcher and libretro frontend for the RGB30, Trimui Smart, Miyoo Mini(s), and Anbernic RG35XX. One of my favourite arcade games is Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, and this also played very well on the SMART. The fact that you can even pause and save your gameplay was great as I often find myself having small bouts of gameplay on these handhelds when sat around waiting for appointments or in a cafe.

You might notice that there are a few things missing from the exterior of the device. There are no physical controls for screen brightness or volume control, though a combination of keys can adjust those while you are in the operating system, while you can change the volume in-game from a firmware menu. There’s also only one set of shoulder buttons, which is a tough sell on a device that claims to support PS1 games. Playing with Power Simple to install, just extract the zip file as instructed and copy everything to your sdcard, overwriting whatever is needed. IMPORTANT: First boot should take 5-10min since a lot of files are being copied Instructions My main gripes would be that the screen is just too small for many people. My eyesight is OK so 2″ is just about acceptable, but even a 2.4″ screen would have been noticeably easier on the eyes. The device lasts about 3 hours on a charge, which is OK but shorter than we are used to. Powkiddy brand was founded on April 7, 2018. It has been three years since it was founded today. No 3.5mm Headphone Input (Only Bluetooth Headphones)..You Can Use USB-C headphones or a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter Though. The Trimui Smart runs a modified Retroarch operating system and emulation suite. Players are responsible for sourcing their own legally correct ROM files to play on the device, which can conveniently work with compressed files to save space on the included SD card.Lightweight and Portable: The game console takes into account the perfect proportion of hand feel and size. It is lightweight and portable, weighing only 100g. First up, I want to talk about the Trimui Smart’s always-good-but-never-quite-perfect screen. 2.4” is a very small screen. I spend most of my handheld gaming time on a GameBoy Advance SP, a PlayStation Vita, or a Nintendo Switch Lite. Shifting down to such a small display was tough, but the screen seems to be really sharp and I actually found it surprisingly readable, even in text-dense SNES games.
