[118]…more The Best Seat in the Universe by Grahame Anderson – eBook Details The Best Seat in the Universe is a self transformation book with a difference. There’s nothing I really dislike more than 101 rules on how to do X,Y or Z. It’s difficult to remember these crazy rules and you are likely to start skipping through because of the way they are presented. Grahame's poems range from making your first Pom-pom in junior school to understanding the struggle life has with death in the poem Old Friends. Humour is never far away with a few smile raisers including The Stag Do and Neighbours. The Best Seat in the Universeis a life-changing guide to help you pave your way. If you like motivating messages, thought-provoking concepts and practical approaches, then you'll love this modern-day story.Grahame hopes that though his writing, that something, just one nugget will inspire some readers or help them improve their lives in some way. He wants the world to be a place that everyone can enjoy, live in peace and love and hopes that one day as a race we can reduce suffering and stop stupid wars or at least stop voting in leaders who want to fight with other countries. I absolutely loved reading this book and could not put it down once I'd started.....what a fantastic tale with simple instructions on how to live your best life. Really enjoyed this book and it’s made me think about my own life. I like the goal setting it’s a good way to live. I like how everything that was said, about fear and being true to yourself.

It was my boys who were the catalyst for this book. Most parents I suspect want to help their teenagers and young adults by giving them some worldly advice. Very often it’s hard to find the right situation to have an adult discussion with them. Trapping them in the car on a long journey is a great time to raise awkward subjects but even then the tone usually turns to ‘Dad!, I don’t want to hear this’ and so either the earphones go in or the silence wins the day. The Best Seat in the Universe is most unusual as it is a self-development book but with a difference. Grahame didn’t want to write the usual format of 49 things to improve your life or 110 ways to change. He took a completely different approach writing a story based journey that will make the reader think about their own situation in life. The Best Seat in the Universe is a life-changing guide to help you pave your way. If you like motivating messages, thought-provoking concepts and practical approaches, then you’ll love this modern-day story. I wanted a self discovery book, I never heard of this book but thought I would give it a try and WOW! This books makes you see life in the way life is meant to be seen. Written as a novel which I have never seen in a self discovery book before this was amazing! The Best Seat in the Universeis a story-based journey centred around a young man and his grandad, as they embark on a behind-the-scenes look at life in search of The Best Seat in the Universe. Their quest is built upon the metaphor of a bus journey from birth till death and everything in between. By crystallizing your purpose and direction, you'll soon be filled with the energy and clarity to make you ready to take on the challenge to a better life. The death in the book is symbolic of change as if we want to change whatever we are currently doing we have to end it so we can move on in a different direction. This simple narrative will help you to follow your dreams and head towards the true destiny you’ve always longed for. They are each given a chance to change the world before travelling to their ultimate destination, the Best Seat in the Universe. Very thought provoking. Gave me direction in life when I didn't quite realise I even needed it. Its a nice easy read, and will change your mindset and your out set. I really like this ideology that life is a bus and to get to somewhere you want to need to takes stops. I actually really liked it but self help books in general are just not my bag so I found it cringe and boring is aspects.

The story starts at the bedside of a dying man, his grandson is with him holding his hand when suddenly the old man’s heart monitor flatlines and the young man is accidentally pulled into his death with him. They head towards the light but when they get there it isn’t choirs and warmth and a spiritual moment as the grandad had expected, they have in fact landed in a forest next to an old bus with its headlights on. It was a fun story to write despite how difficult it was over such a long period of time. Two editors, six rewrites, thirty chapters thrown away to finally end with what others have already critiqued to be a book with a very positive message. My aim has always been to help others, whatever age or circumstances to change their lives. I’m hopeful if you give this book a chance it could help you or perhaps a family member to see the world in a new light. I’m positive the value gained by this book will outweigh the small investment. A good read which flows well keeping the reader engaged. How each of us perceives the topic will vary, however I felt it was a good analogy of life beyond the mass marketed version we're sold. The bus is a metaphor to allow them to take the reader on a journey through all stages of life from understanding who we are, finding our direction, making decisions and understanding that failure is a large part of success. The old man and his grandson travel through areas (each a lesson) on friendship, family guilt, spirituality, being creative and importantly balance, acceptance and understanding how important each of us is in this world. They see first-hand pain, self-doubt and how indecision can freeze someone from going forward. I actually bought it for somebody else. Read a couple of paragraphs and could tell it will be a great read. I actually bought it for somebody else.
