Description

Limescale and corrosion are the two main causes of hydronic heating inefficiency, leading to radiator cold spots, boiler inefficiency, a noisy system and a number of other problems. Once a system has been prepared using one of the cleaners from the Sentinel cleaning range, it should be protected with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor to prevent limescale build up or corrosion. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner eliminates magnetite and limescale deposits from heat exchangers, radiators, underflor heating floors and pipework. It restores more uniform distribution of heat in existing installations, for a better heated home and reduced energy bills. Best practice, derived from documentation provided by industry organisations such as BSRIA or the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association (ICOM), is that an older commercial heating system should be thoroughly cleaned and flushed out before the installation of a new boiler. To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593 it is recommended that this product is used withpowerflushing equipment. In this scenario, administer Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner via thepowerflushing equipment, following theequipment manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, circulate theproduct (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned tomaximum flow) for a minimum period of 1 hour or until satisfactory performance is restored. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner should be used as a 1% solution in mains water to remove typical levels of deposits of iron oxide and calcium carbonate. Where systems are badly fouled, a higher concentration (up to 10%) is recommended.

Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is a heavy-duty cleaner for small or large commercial heating and closed-circuit cooling systems. It is formulated to penetrate and remove iron oxide and calcium based deposits from the entire circuit, including boilers, heat exchangers, radiators and pipe work. It is ideal when systems require immediate, unplanned cleaning. For best results, systems should be cleaned and flushed with clean make-up water. New systems and those up to 6 months old with Sentinel X300, existing systems with Sentinel X400. If the system is already noisy due to limescale deposits in the heat exchanger, Sentinel X200 should be added together with Sentinel X100. The associated ACOP goes on to explain that the ‘temperature in workrooms should normally be at least 16 degrees Celsius unless much of the work involves severe physical effort in which case the temperature should be at least 13 degrees Celsius.’ For optimum results, systems should be cleaned and thoroughly flushed in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems” or similar Water Treatment Guidelines from industry organisations such as the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association (ICOM).litre, 1 300ml aerosol or 1 275ml tube of Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner is sufficient to treat a typical domestic system of up to 10 radiators. Larger systems should be dosed with twice this amount. Its formulation also contains agents to ensure the protection of system metals against corrosion during the cleaning as well as preparing the installation for the addition of Sentinel X100 Inhibitor. We protect heating and hot water systems by providing best practice solutions and products internationally. When using concentrate gel, add directly to the heating system either via a radiator air bleed valve, or via the fill loop using the appropriate adaptor and a suitable caulk gun. To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593, this product should be circulated (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow) for a minimum period of 2 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. Use in conjunction with a powerflushing device to achieve a more rapid clean. Ideally, on the return pipe leading to a boiler. This is to stop debris entering the boiler and damaging it.

Sentinel X100 Inhibitor can be added to the system in a number of ways. For open vented systems, dose via the expansion tank during the final fill. For empty sealed systems, add to any convenient point before filling. For full sealed systems, use a Sentinel Dosing vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point. Sentinel X100 Inhibitor is also available in Rapid-Dose aerosol and Concentrate gel formats. litre, 1 300mlaerosol 400ml aerosol, or 1 275ml tube of Sentinel X100 Inhibitor is sufficient to treat a typicaldomestic system of up to 10 radiators. Larger systems should be dosed with twice this amount. Vortex250 units feature an integrated isolation valve, a voiding the need for a strip down service; and a front-facing magnet, ensuring that where space is at a premium, no further space is required as the magnet can simply be removed at the front. Sealed Systems:If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, usea Sentinel Dosing Vessel to inject via the filling loop or other accesspoint.

Circulating debris in central heating systems can cause wear and premature failure of pumps, valves and heat exchangers. Sentinel's filters are the perfect filter solution to protect the system against magnetic debris. The unique composition of Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner provides a powerful penetrating cleaning action. It will restore more even heat distribution to a property, keeping occupants warmer and bills lower. The rapid, heavy-duty clean that Sentinel Fast Acting Cleaner provides is ideal when commercial heating systems require immediate, unscheduled maintenance. Sentinel X100 Inhibitor provides heavy-duty protection for commercial heating systems and closed cooling systems against limescale and corrosion. These two main culprits of commercial heating inefficiency can cause cold spots in the system, boiler inefficiency, noisy operation and other problems including system breakdown. For large or heavily fouled commercial systems, the cleaning period may have to be extended and the cleaning temperature elevated. Sealed systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, use a dosing vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point. X800 Fast Acting Cleanershould be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 3 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. The horizontal, front facing filter is designed to be fitted in the most restrictive of spaces whilst delivering fantastic debris capture.
