Culturess: I’m sure a lot of us are going to have a book hangover after finishing Final Offer. Do you have any recommendations for books you’d suggest reading after it?

All across the USA, people are showing up dead. The deaths don't appear to be connected in any way until one particular death occurs and gets the Secretary of Defense's attention. He arranges for a task force to investigate. All I can say is CALLAHAN PERCIVAL KANE. Like don’t get me wrong, I love Declan and Rowan, but I knew that Cal would be my favorite Kane brother since we saw so much of him in Terms and Conditions.

I did feel like there were a few pacing issues. The middle part seemed to drag on and then the ending was over in a flash. There were also a lot of huge events that were glossed over in the epilogue that left me feeling a little blindsided.

As with Asher’s previous books, Final Offer has a dual POV which I absolutely adore in romance books. It would be so easy to dislike Cal. On the surface, he’s just a spoiled trust-fund baby that never grew up. In reality, his low self-esteem, his grief and his addiction, combined with his ADHD diagnosis, led him to rely on destructive and unhealthy coping mechanisms. The first in the Dreamland Billionaires Series. I actually read this second and the second one first, so please note you can read them as standalones. And Lana, as Cal calls her, is one of the strongest characters Lauren has written till the date. She’s an incredible woman, who’s so selfless, caring and loving, and that has been through a lot throughout her life. She’s an amazing person, who's willing to sacrifice herself to see the people she loves happy, especially when it comes to her daughter, Cami—who honestly, is a highlight and the star of the book. The mother-daughter relationship between them and how much they care for each other is beautiful. I was excited to read Final Offer, having enjoyed the previous books in the Dreamland series. I particularly liked the best friends to lovers to enemies to lovers trope, but I must have missed the fact that Cal was an alcoholic in the other books.

When I broke her heart six years ago, I promised to never return to Lake Wisteria. I kept my word until my grandfather’s will changed everything. Lauren Asher: I am excited to be working on a new series that will be a part of the Dreamland/ Dirty Air universe. Culturess: The Dreamland Billionaires series follows the three Kane brothers who are dealing with a challenge. While I won’t spoil Cal’s request in Final Offer, how did you come up with such a genius idea? Always having an imaginative streak, Lauren Asher would focus on her love of reading and writing from a very early age. This passion of hers would develop over time, allowing her to essentially become the full-time novelist she’d always wanted to become. Refining and honing her craft throughout the intervening years, she’d come to establish her own unique voice with its distinct style and tone. Cal wants to be out of the town where he could have had the love of his life and being so close to Lana and Cami in the guess house is his own personal form of torture of having what could have been so close but out of reach. And, as Brady Kane would have had it, the house is filled with asbestos causing Lana and Kami to have to live in the guess house with Cal. Cami is beyond thrilled as she and Cal have become best friends over the weeks while Lana is hesitant to be so close to Cal as he is already starting to wear down the walls around her heart.

Final Offer by Lauren Asher is the much anticipated third and final book in the Dreamland Billionaires series. We’ve already read Rowan and Declan’s story in The Fine Print and Terms & Conditions, now it’s time for Cal’s. Now on to Lana... Omg, where do I even start with her. Certain parts of the book I really enjoyed Lana and love her personality, but at some moments and chapters I couldn't get with her and it also made me not want to finish the book. I get that Lana has trust issues and she doesn't want to trust Cal or let him in; even when he's trying his hardest to be the best and to be sober for her too. It gets to a point where you have to stop and think it through. Like when she eavesdropping (she doesn't mean to do it intentionally, it just happens) and she finds out about inheritance and the will. She shuts Cal all the way out and puts up this guard. Now I understand her reason for being mad and upset, but at the same time to understand what's going on you have to talk with your SO and understand why they're doing what they did. At times it made me feel like Lana doesn't want to trust Cal and she doesn't care for him like that. But towards the end of the book she finally let her guard down and let Cal in. Final Offer did start off on a high so high that I giggled because I assumed this was going to be my book of the year. Cal and Alana were going to be great, and the top couple of the series. I spoke too soon. The high unfortunately doesn’t last that long.

Unfortunately, the Final Offer fell short of my expectations. The reasons why I liked Cal in the previous books seemed to have been stripped away, and the book was too long. I almost gave up on it 20 times, but I persevered to provide this detailed review. An author of romance novels, Lauren Asher is well-regarded for writing emotional and engaging stories that really draw the reader in. Filling her books with angst and steam, she immerses her audience in her richly interwoven worlds that instantly grab the reader. Imaginative and compelling on every level, she perfectly understands her audience, knowing just where she wants to take them. This approach of hers has seen her become enormously successful worldwide, reaching a variety of different readers both nationally and internationally. Cal is strong and he knows his addiction has to be handled and managed and eventually he does go to rehab. Now this is the point I want to clarify why I didn't award this as a five star book. Final Offer is a new adult romance featuring the forced proximity, second chance romance, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, and single parent tropes. This is the third and final installment in Lauren Asher’s Dreamland Billionaires trilogy, so if you’re new to this series, you should start with book one, The Fine Print, to avoid spoilers. This would be perfect for fans of romance novels like Twisted Love by Ana Huang, Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score, Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey, Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings, and In the Weeds by B.K. Borison. Some themes present in Final Offer include loneliness and isolation, growing up, family, wealth, desire to escape, love and heartbreak, death, mental health, and addiction, but be aware of the following trigger warnings for absentee parents, alcoholism and addiction, and death of a family member (prior to story). The family scenes where the characters come together are so fun! Cal and Iris friendship, Zara’s bubbly personality and Declan is well, working on it.

Thank you to Little Brown Book Group UK and NetGalley for providing me with an e-arc of Final Offer by Lauren Asher in exchange for an honest review. Clare thought that by now she would have her life figured out. Instead, she's living with her parents, working a job she hates and has absolutely no idea what she wants to do with the rest of her life. It always feels hard and bittersweet to say goodbye to a series I've been in love with for so long, but, at least, it was in the best way possible. Cal and Alana’s story has my heart and it is by far my favorite in the Dreamland Billionaires series. Let me tell you, Cami (Lana’s daughter) is a little spitfire and had an adorable way of stealing the show from either Lana or Cal. Kami is probably the biggest reason that Lana made it through those six years after having her heart broken by Cal. Cami gave Lana a reason to make it through each day, and you it’s clear that Kami and Lana have an unbreakable relationship with love and trust. With Cami only being old enough to be in elementary school she is smart and observant with that childish charm that lowkey freaks Cal out at first but also steals his heart like Lana did.
