Who doesn’t love tag? Choose a person to be it and let everyone run free. When you are tagged you have to freeze. Other players can unfreeze you by tagging you. Squirt gun water races are an exciting alternative to traditional water fights. To play, you’ll need plastic cups (one per team of two people), string, scissors, duct tape, and enough squirt guns for every second person in the group (i.e., 10 people will need at least 5 squirt guns). Divide the group into teams and give each group a hula hoop. The game is the same as regular charades, but as the person acts out the clues, they have to be hula hooping. This simple change completely alters the volleyball experience! It becomes something like Battleships. You have to guess where the opposition is so you can place the ball where you hope they aren’t. In essence, you’re playing blind. No player can strike the ball more than three times in a row before passing the ball to the other side of the net.

For new or established couples, charades is a ton of fun. Taking turns come up with a movie, book, phrase, or television show to act out. Set a timer to see if they can guess what you are acting in time. 4. Board Games Have everyone stand in a circle, shoulder to shoulder. Have everyone put their right hand out and randomly grab the hand of someone across the circle from them.

Remember the ring toss idea we talked about in the Hula Hoop Games section above? Well, another option for your Field Day would be to forget the hula hoops and do it the old-fashioned way, with actual rings or loops of rope. Everybody loves hide and seek. It brings out the kid in all adults. The more that play, the merrier. Make sure you designate a spot for home base for people to return to safely. The first team to pop all the balloons in their section wins. If you set a time limit, then the team that pops the highest number of balloons before time runs out wins. No list of Field Day games for adults would be complete without tug-of-war. A classic activity, it’s suitable for both small and large teams (although having an even number of people helps) and always goes down a treat! Horseshoes are a classic game for all ages but are especially popular among older adults. Teams consist of two players, each taking turns to toss the horseshoes around the stakes. Points are awarded to the horseshoe closest to the stake. 2. Croquet

Be a star: This theme is also a great idea for field days. Team members get the opportunity to prove that they are ‘stars’ in field activities. Divide your group into two teams. The teams need to line up holding hands facing each other. Have the team line standing far enough apart to allow for running in between.There are two reasons to know about games that are great for couples. The result is a fun-filled and exciting event with a nice dose of friendly competition thrown in.

7. Tug-Of-War

After making the signal to start playing, the blindfolded player aims at the cup and shoots to move the cup forward. Each team gets one minute to answer trivia questions, but they need to keep their balloons in the air while they do this. The team to get the most correct answers wins. If anyone balloon is dropped, the team loses the rest of their time to answer questions. 5. Human Knot Then, do the same with the left hand, grabbing a different random hand. Set a time limit and the group has to untangle themselves without releasing their hands. You can do this as a large group or in smaller groups for a competition. 5 Old Fashioned Picnic Games The first team calls out “ Red Rover, Red Rover, Send Someone Over” using the name of a player on the opposing team.
