Description

We prepare and store Parrapu Podi for lazy or busy days. The powder is mixed with rice with some oil and gives it a delicious flavor. Ingredients This Masala is used in South Indian cuisine as a condiment over rice dishes, dosa (lentil and rice pancakes) and idli (steamed rice cakes). To assemble, layer three slices of bread with the onions, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers and capsicum. Generously sprinkle the cheese over the vegetables, then sprinkle with chaat masala, salt and pepper. Cover each with another slice of bread. The serrano chili and cayenne flavor the filling to a medium spice level. The spices are then tamed when layered with the bread and cheese. As always, skip the green chili and cayenne for mild. Hot version: If you really love the spice, use the minimum amount of cream and double the amount of garam masala in both the marinade and sauce. You might also consider looking for some kashmiri red chili powder to add to the sauce along with the other spices. Even just 1 teaspoon of kashmiri red chili powder brings a whole other level of heat to this dish!

Gunpowder is an interesting name given to this spice combination which is a mix of lentils, chili, sesame seeds and jaggery. Gunpowder Recipe Condiments: Homemade mint or cilantro chutney is traditional. The ketchup just makes it that much more appealing! Just remember to have extra green chutney, tamarind chutney and ketchup for serving. All in all, the Mumbai Sandwich is a sandwich fit for any occasion; a perfect blend of flavours, textures, and spices. So next time you’re feeling adventurous, give it a try and let your taste buds dance with joy! Why is the Mumbai sandwich so popular in India? Be sure to simmer. Allowing the sauce to simmer gives time for all of the ingredients to combine and really work together for this delicious sauce. Chaat Masala: Sprinkle chaat masala on every layer of vegetables for the best taste. You can easily find chaat masala online or at any Indian grocery store. You can use Snadwich masala instead of chaat masala. To prepare for the week ahead, I boil the potatoes in my Instant Pot over the weekend, and make the potato filling after that. Then, grill the sandwiches the day I am going to serve. The potatoes and filling mix will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Variations to Try - Vegan & Low-Carb

To enhance the flavours of the spicy Bombay Aloo, garnish with a generous amount of fresh coriander and squeeze some lemon juice on top for a zing. The potato masala or stuffing is made with boiled and mashed potatoes, which is then tempered with spices. Easy to make, especially if you have leftover boiled or mashed potatoes.
