About this deal

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S is a mid-range smartphone released by Xiaomi in January of 2022. The phone has a 6.43 inch Amoled screen with an impressive 90 Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 700 cd/m². It also features stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. B1 (2100) , B2 (1900) , B3 (1800) , B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1) , B5 (850) , B7 (2600) , B8 (900) , B20 (800) , B28b (700) , B28a (700) , B38 (TDD 2600) , B40 (TDD 2300) , B41 (TDD 2500) Redmis are relatively reserved. At their best, this can mean they look more like a legit top-end phone than the showy budget Androids. The power button on the side is also a fingerprint scanner. It has been fast and reliable in our testing: no complaints here.

It's not all promising, though. The Redmi Note 11S GPU is inferior to the one used on the previous Note 10S model. And there is no 4K video capturing - something the Note 10S could do. Finally, MIUI 13 is available out of the box, yet it runs on top of the older Android 11 OS.Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S is a mid-range smartphone released by Xiaomi at the beginning of 2022. It was released with Android 11 but can be upgradable to Android 13, which means this is a good phone still in the year 2023-2024. We do not know as of now if an Android 14 update will be available or not. We don’t see this effect in the Xiaomi 11T Pro, which uses the same Samsung HM2 sensor. The ISP may be to blame. This is the image signal processor, which is part of the Snapdragon 695 chipset. Its Spectra 346T ISP is weaker than the MI 11T Pro’s and, more notably, the Spectra 350 of the Redmi Note 10 Pro — even though it has a triple ISP to the last-gen phone’s dual ISP. The Snapdragon 765G was almost a 'flagship' affordable CPU. The Snapdragon 695 is not, and video capture quality is the most significant casualty of this price-cutting status —we’ll cover that in the camera section of this review. Additionally, the Redmi Note 11 Pro has a great battery life. I was easily able to use it for a full day of moderate to heavy use without having to charge it thanks to the 5,000mAh battery. The phone has a 67W fast charging capability, so when I did need to charge it, it was fully charged in just under an hour. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G’s main camera is decent. Its other two cameras are not. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 10 Pro won our hearts with three good cameras: the primary, an above average 16MP ultra-wide and a fab little 5MP telemacro that just steamrolled all other macro cameras in its class. It still does.

Finally, the Redmi Note 11S has a 5,000mAh battery, a typical capacity for the Note series. It supports 33W fast charging, and it ships with the corresponding power adapter. The Pro models, on the other hand, support 67W fast charging. It also has an IR blaster. These are rare outside phones from Chinese brands, probably because no one in Europe or the US uses the feature. It lets the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G function as a universal remote, with the help of the Mi Remote app. Second, the Redmi Note 11 Pro's camera setup is genuinely impressive. A 108-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide lens, a macro lens, and a depth sensor are all included in its quad-camera setup. The camera produces stunning images in both bright and dim lighting, and the different lenses allow for versatility in taking a variety of pictures. The Redmi Note 11S can record videoat only up to 1080p, with stabilisation, however the quality was strictly average even when shooting in broad daylight. In low light, the quality was really poor and not up to the mark for a phone in this segment. Verdict

Redmi Note 11S cameras

First of all, the display is absolutely stunning. The phone's 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, which has a 120Hz refresh rate, is an eye-pleasing treat for those who use it to browse social media or stream their favorite shows. The screen is bright enough to be used outside in direct sunlight, and the colors are vivid. This camera’s secondary cameras are standard fodder. You get an 8MP ultra-wide and a poor 2MP macro. As is the case with all ultra-low-res macros, it takes bad pictures. Sure, you can focus up close, but the detail is rendered at such low fidelity you just don’t get the eye beguiling effect that makes macro photography worthwhile. Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, IR blaster
