I love writing and reading. They are both my passion. My genre is generally set to new adult and contemporary, with a few twists thrown in. The review I started when I first finished is saved in my notes on my phone. I pass it and read it every single time I go to type out a review for another book and still I couldn’t finish it. I never felt like it was right or that it was enough to fully explain this book and the emotions I felt and my love for this story. So, this is my review.

I have since removed posts regarding to it as a standalone and have added it into the enigma series. I apologise for any confusion this may have caused. Enigma of Life: Isaac’s Story is a five star novel by Shandi Boyes. This book is book number six in the Perception series. This book can be read as a standalone since Isaac is normally such an insignificant character in the other books. You may not even remember him fully! But not anymore. Isabelle is flying to her new job. Boy, she hates to fly. She is so deathly afraid of flying that on the first leg of her journey, she didn't even let go of her death grip on the armrest the entire flight. Now, she has to do it all over again on the second leg. Thankfully, this is a much shorter flight for her. As she is going through the airport, she literally falls into the most handsome gentleman she has ever seen. He is very much dressed to impress and is a very confident man. As he tries to balance her and help her up with her things, they bump heads again. He can't help but be amused at all that is happening right now. He then invites her to the lounge to wait with him until her flight. She graciously accepts until she realizes how pitifully undressed she would be for a place like that. He tells her it won't matter, and she follows him inside. Once there, he reaches behind the bar like he owns the place. He gets some ice for her eye and gets some glasses for their drink. The bartender brings over the whiskey like he knows exactly what Isaac wants. After the drink, Isabelle realizes she is going to be late for her flight if she doesn't hurry. She thanks her gentleman and runs out the door. Little does she know, he has a plan to see her on the next flight. He helps her calm her nerves and entices her in every way imaginable. She knows she needs to stay away from him. He invites her as a one and done deal to a club that Saturday. After their encounter, she can't get him out of her head. She hopes one day she will see him again but also knows she cannot become involved with him. Ever. I loved Isaac and he is the perfect guy for my stories, but Isabelle was annoying as crap!! She cries over EVERYTHING!! He hates it and I hated it just as much. I was like, "She is an FBI agent....get over your crap." Building and supporting a community of self-published authors dedicated to both sharing experiences and learning as equals. Isaac ( Mr Holt) is a club owner he’s extremely private and only let a small amount of people in to his private life he don't do relationships or dating just one night stands which at the time was working fine for him. His life is hectic with business but he's extremely mysterious and abit broody at times but it just adds to the his sex appeal the dark handsome time yum. When he meets Isabelle he doesn't realise his world is going to be turned upside down. Can they survive secrets they have? Can Isabelle break through his walls and get to his heart???An Enigma is a defined as a person or thing that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand. Isabelle lost her family at a young age and was raised by her Uncle Tobias who was a great role model for her. Isabelle is on her way to her new job in a new town when she literally falls down to the feet of the most handsome man with grey eyes she has ever met. She enjoys her plane ride after meeting him because she is scared of flying this perfect (and I mean perfect in every way) stranger helped her through the scary part. Isabelle meets new people and works hard at her job put can’t quit thinking about those eyes and that man who she needs to stay far away from. He is an enigma and she finds herself drawn to him as much as she tries to keep her distance he just always appears and her body is a traitor to her and has a mind of its own when she is near him.

I love that we still have chapters from both Isaac and Isabelle’s POV. We also get to find out more about Regan in this book too, the name floated about in previous books but we formally get introduced to the character in this book! I’m not quite sure I’m going to view cupcake frosting in the same light again thought after this book!Isabelle, who is new to town, is meeting a friend of her Uncle’s that she will be staying with until she gets on her feet and starts her new job as FBI field agent. Regina, the friend of her uncle, is a fellow police officer who supplies her with a file of the person Isabelle was brought to Ravenshoe to investigate whom lo and behold happens to be Isaac Holt, the man that helped her out on the plane. He is being investigated for potential mob connections and all that that implies. As the story unfolds, the storyline flows from one book into the next- taking us on a truly incredible journey with characters that will capture your heart and mind. I have spent quite a lot of time reflecting on how to do this boxed set real justice- how do I write a review that will convey just how amazing these books are and give you an idea of the story, without giving away any spoilers. I could go into more detail about what each book is about, but I think that gives away too much and you are better off not knowing too many details and just immersing yourself in the stories. The first 45% of this book was spent wanting to sleep with Isaac Holt and the other 55% was spent sleeping with Isaac Holt. The night that he was arrested and his home trashed by the FBI Isaac got himself drunk, He got Hugo to take him to his apartment forgetting Clara was there. When he awoke the next morning he was distressed to see Clara in the same bed as him. Being so drunk he could not remember if anything had happened between the both of them. His first rational thoughts were of Izzy even though she had spent the last few months seeing him while the FBI were investigating him and she was an FBI agent. When Clara spitefully tells Izzy that she and Isaac slept together, she decides to bring the matter up with Isaac, instead of listening to what he might have to say she storms out of their hotel room telling him it’s over.
