About this deal

The compact footprint makes this a great professional-style machine for a smaller kitchen – it measures W19.5 x D32 x H31cm. Made from stainless steel it looks the part, too. Like other Sage coffee machines it’s ready to roll in a flash (if one of those lasts 3 seconds). It comes with a stainless-steel milk jug, too. Those who shopped for this machine at John Lewis gave it five out of five stars. Happy customers said, ‘We just can’t go to high street coffee shops anymore as we always get disappointed with the taste.’ It was also celebrated as ‘a real pleasure to use’.

The Breville Infuser wins this round since it allows temperature and volume adjustments. Hot Water Spout Of course, there’s also the option of using pre-ground coffee. We don’t recommend this if you want a fresh flavour and rich crema though. This machine has similar features to the Barista Pro, featuring the thermojet, so the same fast start-up, steam ready time, and fast steaming with the four hole steam tip. So overall, the Oracle is great, I really rate it, and personally, I prefer it to the Oracle Touch simply because I prefer analogue buttons, and for me (for the way I use espresso machines) the touch screen gets in the way and actually slows me down, vs the Oracle. If there was a version of the Pro without the integrated grinder, with the LCD screen, shot timer, and everything else that the Pro has going for it, and if it was priced right allowing the owner to be able to afford a capable espresso grinder at a similar price to the pro, I think it would be one of the best entry-level machines. Of course, while it might be easy to use, it’s not quite as advanced as the Breville Infuser. So, you sacrifice customization for ease of use. To me, it makes perfect sense that someone who would want a touch screen and on screen guidance would want that assistance and guidance from start to finish, but now there is the Barista Touch and the Barista Touch Impress, there's more choice, and I'm sure there are some people out there who do only want assistance with steaming milk and are happy to be unaided where espresso is concerned, and if that's you, then the Barista Touch may be the machine for you. There are several cleaning tasks that need to be performed on a regular basis. Sage recommends replacing the water filter every two months, as this reduces mineral build up. You may want to replace it more often if you live in a hard water area though.

not initially diagnose the problem unless I use the sage portafilter, and that the repair would be non warranty because of it! Even though On the plus side, the drip tray is easy to empty. The water tank also has a built-in scale feature, which helps prevent limescale build-up. Other Features I've not done any blind tasting yet to really put this to the test, but my opinion at this point is that most people who're considering either the Oracle Touch or the Barista Touch Impress, probably wouldn't quite have a sensitive enough coffee palate to be able to tell the difference. As well as the external grind adjustment, the grinder on these espresso machines (and on the smart grinder pro) has 10 internal grind settings on the top burr. They come from the factory at 6, which I think is a bit on the coarse side for espresso with standard baskets, from experience – so all you need to do is really simply move the internal grind setting a notch or two finer. The Breville brand is owned in the UK by an American firm called Newell Brands, and they sell coffee machines using the Breville brand, but they are not the same as the Sage coffee machines that sell as Breville in other parts of the world. For instance, its adjustable PID temperature control lets you tweak the temperature of your brew. That way, you can get a drink that’s as hot or cool as you like. There are people who buy Sage coffee machines because they've heard that they make better espresso than other bean to cup machines, but the point is, they're not bean to cup machines. Prefer the fuss-free process of making coffee from a capsule, but want a sophisticated take on this style of machine? This model is that. We also like how easy it is to get started with, and that it makes a great range of coffees, while foaming milk is also simple. When it comes to the Sage Barista Express Impress vs the Sage Barista Pro, all of the above differences I've mentioned really sink into insignificance compared to the main difference between these machines, which is assisted manual espresso machine vs completely manual espresso machine. You swipe and touch the screen to select the coffee you want to make, and the machine takes you through the process and allows you to customize that particular coffee to your taste.
