The short answer; It's hard to say. People will tell others more about themselves when they feel confident in who they are. Maybe they will someday, perhaps they won't.

ADBLs are a community that enjoys wearing attire usually associated with babies, such as diapers. Some members of this community (known as Adult Babies) also enjoy role-playing by dressing and performing activities usually associated with babies , such as drinking from a bottle. Others simply enjoy the feeling of wearing an adult diaper over their underwear (known as Diaper Lovers). When did it start? Universally, there are always rotten eggs in any group, but I'd argue that ABDL's have much richer and more authentic personal lives than the average relationship. You may ask, "Why is that?" As most of the ABDL community keep their interest in adult diapers private, it isn’t clear exactly what drew them to this interest in the first place. It seems that some people are introduced to wearing adult diapers due to incontinence or other medical issues, and then later become more comfortable wearing them.The real question is, "why do you want to know?" or, "Are you interested and curious about the practice of ageplay?" Many people find their love of ageplay very young or in their early twenties due to many factors. Knowing about the ABDL tendencies of your best friend has nothing to do with whether they trust you. The beautiful part about relationships is that long-lasting relationships are built over time through the smallest of moments. If you happen to be close to an ABDL, they will eventually tell you if they feel safe, and your trust is unwavering over a long period. ABDL is often hidden because it is misunderstood or viewed as taboo, leading to social consequences (fear). I was walking to get the bus, a gust of wind threw my skirt up and showed like 15 people my diaper. (I dont know how many knew what it was, but i felt like crying) As the saying goes with the media, "There is no news like bad news." For this reason, a large amount of the public is misinformed about ABDL and ageplay as a community.

It’s not currently clear how big the AB community is, as most people who enjoy wearing adult diapers do so in private. The Diaper Pail Friends was one of the first groups dedicated to adult diaper wearing, and reached nearly 3000 members by 1995. By 2008, with the help of the internet, the group had grown to over 15,000 members. Why do some people love wearing adult diapers? If you've heard of the term "forever young," you have likely thought to yourself that being younger generally has elements that held a much happier time. Maybe you've even told other kids to enjoy being young, as life tends to get more difficult and complicated. Regardless of the quality of upbringing, we often try and remember the good things and forget the bad. The same good elements make ageplay so popular as the lifestyle practice provides an opportunity to experience a safe, intimate, and care-free experience. The main reason you may have never heard of ABDL until now is that society as a whole doesn't understand the intricacy that ABDL is more like a spectrum of preferences rather than a one size fits all definition. Anywho, I kinda want to do something there involving abdl that I wouldn’t normally be able to do either here in my hometown, or with my girlfriend. I’m not even sure what I want to do but I want to feel that thrill, if you know what I’m talking about. Obviously I don’t want to get arrested or anything, so I’m not gonna walk around in just a tshirt and a diaper. But are there other things I can do that minimally will give me that thrill? These are just a few examples I’ve come up with so far:I have enjoyed the freedom that i felt about just being able to wet myslef as and when i pleased, and not having to worry about going to the toilet. It's felt kinky and fun wearing diaper at places i wouldnt of expected, like when i went to a festival in a diaper, or when i wore diapers to a concert (Which at this one i was in the standing area, and some people defintly felt my diaper) Knowing if your friend is ABDL shouldn't have any bearing on your relationship's quality; if they feel comfortable in themselves, they will tell you; or maybe they won't. If you have a Mommy or someone who encourages your little side, you can ask for encouragement to wet your pants. I have given many littles and babies encouragement to pee themselves. It can help to have a voice of guidance remind you that inside you are a pants wetter. ABDL and Wetting forums like omorashi.org are also great for getting encouragement from others. Then you can report to Mommy or to someone else to tell them about the experience. My Daddy and I went to Ikea today to get some furniture and other home decor. Before we left he asked if I wanted to wear my diaper, in the past I’ve always said no, but today I said yes. It’s good to be prepared just in case… Purposefully not wear a diaper and wet my pants before I enter the store, then walk around the store looking at different brands of diapers In many cases, it is not safe for ABDLs to tell others as many parents or friends can see this as something that needs therapy even though the tendencies are healthy. Misunderstanding can lead to fear and many hurtful assumptions. It is for this reason many ABDL's keep their preferences safe within their own space. Chances are you know an ABDL. :D A beach is a great place to wet your pants because no one will suspect a thing. Just lay down on your beach towel in your swimsuit and feel how you cannot hold it in anymore. You can just swim in the water to rinse off signs of your little accident. Everyone will assume the wet spot on your towel is from swimming. No one will guess that you are a pants wetter!

For those with medical needs, adult diapers can be worn any time of day underneath regular clothes. Others find it comfortable to sleep in overnight diapers, or even swim in adult swim diapers. Which diapers are popular with ABDLs? ABDL's are in all careers, demographics and span the globe. ABDL is a large sub-community that has managed to cultivate families of normative acceptance around the lifestyle. So, then how common is ABDL in the world? Extremely common.
