Description

The T. rex skeleton with base measures over 5 in. (13 cm) high, 11 in. (29 cm) long and 3.5 in. (9 cm) wide. Together with the other builds and minifigures, it’s great for everyday play.

The set provides some decent play value, with the minifigures and the fact that you can easily detach the T. Rex skeleton from its base to “re-animate” it, but at the same time, functions well as a display model. This skeleton measures 29cm in length, while the standard LEGO Tyrannosaurus rex reaches 28cm long. Such consistency between the two dinosaurs is outstanding and one can definitely imagine this skeleton fitting inside the living T. rex, despite their subtle differences in scale. The relative proportions between them also match reasonably well, although their feet vary.

Here’s a closer look at both minifigures. Owen Grady is Owen Grady with Chris Pratt’s signature dirty-mo look. This is like the de-facto Owen Grady minifigure, so there’s nothing new here. Discover building toys to delight all ages in the LEGO Jurassic World range, with molded, buildable dinosaur figures, minifigures, impressive buildings and cool vehicles for play and display. The T.Rex Skeleton does one thing right that the Ideas 21320 Dinosaur Fossils set doesn’t – the generous use of tan elements instead of white gives it a much more realistic, aged look that you’d typically expect from a dinosaur skeleton in a museum.

What truly brings this skeleton to life is this excellent new T.Rex skull, with great looking printed details on top of a monochrome tan base. Minifigures are the most redundant parts of LEGO Jurassic World sets, and I have literally lost count of how many Owen Grady minifigures I own, but the set does come with Darius, the protagonist of the series, and an adorable blue baby triceratops. As it’s meant to be displayed on its platform, you can easily remove it and the T. Rex skeleton functions pretty well as a standalone re-animated skeleton dinosaur, and the posable knees and hips give you plenty of options on how you want to pose it. And last but not least – here’s how the T. Rex SKeleton looks next to the other LEGO Tyrannosaurus Rexes – kudos to the designers for keeping the general dimension, and profile of the T. Rex consistent.

Description LEGO 76940 T. rex Dinosaur Fossil Exhibition Fun playset featuring a cool, buildable T. rex skeleton The LEGO 76940 T. rex Dinosaur Fossil Exhibition is one of the many sets of the LEGO Jurassic World theme. FeaturesThe only weak point is the minifigures, which to be fair, are never the strongest features of Jurassic World set. Having Darius in an accessible set is a nice bonus for fans of the Camp Cretaceous, but the recycled Owen Grady just feels lazy, and it would’ve been nice to get another generic minifigure, or museum attendant just to mix things up. This 198-piece set is ideal for a young LEGO fan who is looking for a more challenging building experience. It comes with illustrated, step-by-step instructions so they can build with confidence.

The T. rex skeleton is posable so kids can play with it like a normal LEGO dinosaur toy figure, and it comes with a stand to display it as a museum exhibit.T. rex Dinosaur Fossil Exhibition represents an interesting departure from earlier LEGO Jurassic World sets. Despite comprising relatively simple construction techniques, this skeletal dinosaur includes great detail and the proportions correspond almost perfectly with the existing LEGO Tyrannosaurus rex. In fact, the basic structure complements minifigure skeletons, which are comparably simple.
