Some say it has a hissing sound. A) don't leave unplugged devises plugged in B) Use a noise gate- most devises that this was designed for have a noise gate C) turn down the channel volume when not in use. D) try the ground lift feature if using XLR(s). Even if that difference is real, do you think you will be able to hear the difference? I know I wouldn't.

People think you can just plug your guitar or instrument straight into it and get great sounds...Maybe, if your guitar has a pre-amp. I get a nice sound with my fender Roland VG5 (has a pre-amp) on the acoustic setting that has built in reverb. But, is not as load. Say you have a wedge monitor on the floor. You (1.5m tall) stand 1m before it. Your room might be 2.5m high. While the direct signal arrives at your ears after 5ms of travel through the air, you get an early reflection from the ceiling after about 12ms . So there already is a short delay of 7ms (12-5) that adds some perceived phase shift (gets louder @140Hz but tamed @70Hz). If you move to 3m away from the monitor the relative delay between direct and reflected signal gets down to 5ms so that 200Hz is perceived louder and 100Hz less loud. This is just one of many reflections you get from the room. They add up to something that alters the sound significantly.A guitar amp with an FX Loop allows you to plug the modeler into the amp's power amp (FX Loop Return).

Have you tried listening to your FRFR in different rooms? Small offices have notoriously bad acoustics - specifically, huge swings in low/low mid frequencies depending on your exact location in the room, which can cause your tone to go from muddy to thin just by moving a few feet. I can tell you this from experience, as it’s the exact reason I have to mix on headphones at my house. Speaker size in this context (different for guitar amps) has mainly to do with the amount of air being pushed, which translates roughly to SPL (total max volume). Nothing beats the tone of good tube amp. Going from a M.Boogie Mark IV to two 8"FRFR Headrush wedges turned out to be a huge surprise. I'm driving it with Sweetwaters exclusive custom white Straymon Iridium amp/cab emulator. All my mono footpeddles are in line before the Iridium. From the Iridium stereo outputs, I use 1/4" stereo cable going to channel 1 of both Headrush wedges. I do the same with my acoustic processor using channel 2. The Headrush wedges are set 45deg on each side of my centered vocal monitor wedge. I'm not running stereo but this sets both Headrush wedges at the same volume. You can link them together but the vol. From the 1st wedge will push the vol in the 2nd. You can balance them out but that's more stage setup time which many of us dont have that luxury. Since I'm running mono, from the closest Headrush wedge XLR output, the combined acoustic and electric mix goes to the main board. My vol. Is controlled by the vol.knob on the Iridium for electric, Acoustic Soulmate for the acoustic, now perfectly balanced in the Headrush wedges. I dont put my gtr mix in my vocal monitor, it all comes from the 2 Headrush wedges. What an awesome sound! The Headrush FRFR-108 Speaker Cab delivers 2000 watts of peak power that delivers clarity, punch and ample headroom for any venue. With the convenient XLR Link output, FRFR-108 seamlessly sends your mix to Front-of-House equipment, or links to more FRFR-108 cabinets where additional stage-based amplification is required.

Consequently, it works very well when playing for a band. Can I connect them with my phone to play the guitar? Headrush’s FRFR 108 is a 2000-watt, low-weight, compact, and portable guitar/bass amplifier. It has 2 XLR inputs so that you can easily plug in two instruments at once and set their volume individually with the help of individual volume controllers. The FRFR-108 is a 2000-watt full-range, flat-response powered cabinet that perfectly complements the HeadRush Pedalboard or any other multi-FX/amp modeller. It features an 8-inch/2-way speaker, dual XLR/TRS ¼” combo inputs with independent volume, contour EQ and a lightweight pole-mountable cabinet. Surgically Tuned, Masterfully Voiced I've dialed in my AX8 tones using small studio monitors, a SS power amp and traditional 2x12 cab, and a two-way powered floor monitor with a 15" driver and horn tweeter. - With this, today my Headrush 108 was delivered and I spent about an hour running some patches through it. It sounded really nice with virtually no tweaking required. It is more detailed and balanced than my powered wedge but my presets all sound like some version of fine through it. The HeadRush Pedalboard and Gigboard have stormed the market with their ground-breaking innovation in FX and Amp modelling. Now that you’ve elevated your rig to the new innovative standards of today’s modellers, don’t rely on the limited frequency response of a traditional amplifier or PA speakers. You need the FRFR-108.

Just like the FRFR-108, it will give you a realistic room-filling sound with the authentic feel of a speaker pushing air. It was built for the discerning guitarist/bassist. Key Features There is no ultimate champion this time, but you should choose your favorite based on your interest and purposes. A precise, full response over the whole frequency range, without any artificial colouration, is delivered by its precisely voiced 12-inch woofer and high-frequency compression driver, which is essentially necessary to reflect the artist’s tone. Don't add too much reverb. Unless you are using it as an effect (eg: surf guitar) then it should be applied naturally. You don't usually hear properly applied reverb... it just softens the part and sits it nicely into the mix with the surrounding tones. Hear your rigs as they were always meant to be heard! The HeadRush FRFR-108 features a specially-voiced 8-inch woofer and high-frequency compression driver that deliver a clear, concise and sonically-true full response across the entire frequency range, without any nuisance artificial colouration. Thanks to a conveniently located Contour EQ switch, the FRFR-108 guarantees to cut through muddy sounding stage mixes for perfect monitoring every time! High Output PowerI don't know much about the Pod Go, but Helix has a nice global EQ that can help even things out with different speaker types. After the above comparison of Headrush FRFR 108 vs 112, can you decide between them considering the features? Whether you are using the FRFR-108 as a floorboard monitor wedge or your main amplification source, all the critical power and connectivity options are included to ensure you are primed for any scenario. Advanced Processing Technology In one of the pics with the band, the bigger speaker center stage is what I've been normally using for a wedge is an EV ZLX12P (which I very fond of - I own 7) but I used it for center fill, and the HeadRush 8in is next to it for the stage monitor. This may sound a little odd to you, but this is cheap/free to try. If you are feeling crafty, try laying some fabric (towel, pillow case, etc.) over the HF driver on the HR speaker. Fabric layers can filter/attenuate and smooth out frequencies, especially high frequencies with a compression horn, which may help with the near field harshness. You might experiment with multiple layers or different fabrics. If you find success with fabric and want to improve aesthetics, you can always attach it behind the grille of the HR.

Headrush 108 and 112 both have high output power, peaking at 2000 watts. They provide clarity and enough headroom for every situation with this ultimate power. The FRFR-108 follows in the footsteps of it's bigger brother, the Headrush FRFR-112. Perfect for a more authentic front-of-house sound with bigger drivers and woofers and to give you more power!

Warranty Info

If you turn it up and you have it sitting upright on a smooth surface, it will walk off of it. Use a stand or figure out a slip resistant solution (I use a lazy Susan that doesn't have a smooth surface). The FRFR-108 is a 2000-watt full-range, flat-response powered cabinet that perfectly complements the HeadRush Pedalboard or any other multi-FX/amp modeller. It features an 8-inch/2-way speaker, dual XLR/ TRS 1⁄4” combo inputs with independent volume, contour EQ and a lightweight pole-mountable cabinet.
