Grow Old with Me: After Hotaru has agreed to just trial date Hananoi and asks him what he would like, he responds that he would love it if they could be buried next to each other in the same grave. Though out the plot hotaru tries her best to integrate Hananoi into her social group despite his coldness towards them and his attempt to isolate Hotaru from her friend group, which doesn’t work

Crush Blush: All over the place given the genre. A prominent example occurs when Hotaru finally tells Hananoi that she loves him and he tries to hide his face as he is so overjoyed that he's blushing profusely.Hotaru and Hananoi are in a relationship, but Hotaru's coworker Yao once again has romantic feelings for her. This later ends up a Love Dodecahedron since Hotaru's other coworker develops feelings for Yao, but she is all too aware of his feelings for Hotaru. Hodgkins, Crystalyn (March 8, 2020). "Kodansha Comics Licenses Kakushigoto, My Roomie Is a Dino, Orient, 5 Other Manga for Digital Release". Anime News Network . Retrieved May 21, 2021. Then you realize that the male MC Hananoi is kinda throwing red flags all over with his possessive clingy love-bombing. And instead of glossing over or romanticizing his behavior the author does a good job of getting the female main to break out of his toxic mentality What sparks Hananoi's interest in Hotaru is her shielding him from the snow, one time. That's it. Subverted as we later learn that he's actually been in love with Hotaru since middle school, but was too insecure to pursue it at the time.

The "obsessive guy" trope is very common and it usually displays aggressive behavior, or an unhealthy way of approaching. More often than not, the obsession lead to the guy to jealousy in great doses and making him act in creepy and stalkerish ways.

The problem I have with it is that Hananoi is continually giving me stalker vibes. He literally knows nothing of Hotaru, yet he's immediately so obsessed with her that he'll do anything for her, such as search for her barrette in a snowy field all night. When they're alone, he throws her against the floor and looms over her threateningly, because he's just so into her he can't control himself. He'll Nov 20 From the U.S. to Japan, While Hotaru is spending time at a cafe with her close friend, she witnesses the relentless breakup of a handsome honor student, Hananoi. Encountering him sitting alone in the snow on her way home, she extends her umbrella to him in a gesture of kindness. being re-socialized through his high school girlfriend? That wouldn't be that big of a deal if his attachment to her didn't come across as a genuine mental illness. This isn't a 'dig' at him, i'm just at a point in this story (ch 39-41) where I would rather read about him getting professional help because his behavior is unacceptable.

Kodansha USA Publishing started publishing the manga in English digitally in 2020. The company published the manga's first compiled book volume physically in English on January 24, and will release the fifth volume on November 21. Kodansha USA Publishing describes the manga's story: The main characters in shoujos are often written to be perfect with occasional small mistakes; it was exciting to see characters written with big mistakes and bigger negative feelings like real people actually act. They learn from it over time and grow as individuals.

I know his behavior is kinda stalkerish but I also know he also try to limit himself, his feeling is genuine, and this is what the female lead see but many reader fail to see. Their relationship is far from toxic because she knows how to make his world wider, make him change and compromise while at the same time the male lead also help her to understand how to understand love and experience new things. Their relationship is trial and error but they communicate well, compromise and change to be better. Their relationship feels real. It becomes clear with his parents being absent and other past experiences, Hananoi-kun is just looking to give all his love to someone who will accept it and not leave him! He definitely has a fear of being alone or left by those who love him, made clear by his sad memories of growing up alone, losing a friend, and his efforts to fill the hole in his heart through dating. Chapter 1 - Nice To Meet You • Chapter 2 - My First Boyfriend • Chapter 3 - My First Visit • Chapter 4 - Our First Christmas

I've read up to the latest chapter so far (Chapter 28) and we're given more of ML's past (with even more to be shown based on how chapter 28 ended) which explain his behavior. Our male lead in A Condition Called Love kind of gave himbo golden-retriever-boyfriend energy at first. He’s a handsome character who wants to do anythingto make his crush happy: even changing his appearance or going very out of his way for someone he just met. However, as more is revealed you begin to get creeped out by his character a bit. He tries a little too hard and cares a little too much for Hotaru. His character seems desperate for love, and I felt kind of bad for him (and scared of him), especially at the beginning of this story. facts about a Japanese gem, manga, would be a big loss for you. There are many reasons why there are Art-wise, it's fine, but with how much eye candy you can find in shoujo it really doesn't seem that special. I don't know, maybe it gets better as it goes on. I hate dropping series and this is the first manga I've dropped in years but I just can't bring myself to continue. There's nothing interesting happening, every character but the male lead feels like white noise, and said male lead could easily be the villain of a horror story. There's just so many other things to read these days, similar premise or not, that there's just no reason to keep going for me.

Manga

There's some actual character development and the FL & ML both have their own insecurities YET THEY ALWAYS MANAGE TO COMMUNICATE!!! Yeah, there are misunderstandings that are thrown here and there, yet it doesn't drag on because they talk to each other and it's just so UGH. It's what all the other shoujo manga should strive to be like. A Condition Called Love is a deconstruction of romantic comedies, asking "What would happen if you made the male lead an actual person?" He's tall and handsome, he's always there to protect his love interest when she's in danger, he dotes upon her, cares for her, never runs out of reasons he loves her, he's willing to do anything for her, and his world revolves around her. What would our well-intentioned male lead actually look like? And Megumi Morino executes this to near perfection. Pineda, Rafael Antonio (July 1, 2022).
