About this deal

In a disturbing exposé of Putin's sinister ambition, Sweeney draws on thirty years of his own reporting - from the Moscow apartment bombs to the atrocities committed by the Russian Army in Chechnya, to the annexation of Crimea and a confrontation with Putin over the shooting down of flight MH17 - to understand the true extent of Putin's long war. Given his weird conception of Russian history, he naturally didn’t want to go down as a loser, the ruler guilty of losing the last chance for his country to remain at the centre of an Empire. Scientology and Me", a Panorama investigation into Scientology written and presented by Sweeney, was aired on BBC One on Monday, 14 May 2007.

John Sweeney is a distinguished award winning investigative journalist, working in the past for many news outlets including BBC’s Panorama and Newsnight as well as Channel 4’s Dispatches. The story-line is, of course, selective, and he doesn’t explicitly say that the coup and counter-coup in Moscow in August 1991 were planned mainly by different factions in the KGB. What struck me most, though, were the first-hand accounts of the Ukrainian people suffering at the hands of the Russian dictator; this really served to humanise the war narrative and reiterated why the Ukrainians must win.

I won’t give away any secrets by mentioning that the main point of this book, accompanied by dozens of examples, is that Vladimir Putin is a mass-murdering despot. Prior to its airing, video footage filmed by the Church of Scientology was released that showed Sweeney shouting at Scientology representative Tommy Davis during a visit to CCHR's "Psychiatry: An Industry of Death".In Killer in the Kremlin , award-winning journalist John Sweeney takes readers from the heart of Putin's Russia to the killing fields of Chechnya, to the embattled cities of an invaded Ukraine. Description - Killer in the Kremlin: The instant bestseller - a gripping and explosive account of Vladimir Putin's tyranny by John Sweeney An explosive account of Putin's presidency and his long-term ambitions, including first-hand reporting from the invasion of Ukraine. IRYNA VENEDIKTOVA, UKRAINE'S PROSECUTOR-GENERAL * 'The evil dwarf-president is merely another one of those damn fool misfits like that scrappy little Stalin, or wee little Lenin. The book starts out with some passionate, melodramatic self-aggrandising about Sweeney's adventures in Ukraine, which could have been interesting if spun out into an examination of the present, Russia's crimes and the impact he's observed in Ukrainian society.

How can anyone believe him when he continues to spew the 100% discredited Trump Russia collusion narrative. Some people think that the KGB finally came to power in Russia, replacing the CPSU, in August, 1991, but stayed in the background until the autumn of 1999, as the author, on my reading, implies in chapters 4 and 5. Unless russians understand what they did wrong for centuries, they will continue to be imperialists and a possible threat.

an Emmy Award and a Royal Television Society prize for programs about the Massacre at Krusha e Madhe, Kosovo. Oh, do f*ck off", journalist John Sweeney often tweets in response to more lies peddled by the Kremlin and its despot in chief Vladimir Putin. Sweeney seems to take it for granted (in my opinion, correctly) that Putin was and is the leading warmonger in what may (repeat: may) be the most guilty ‘Gang of Five’, three from the KGB-FSB (Putin, Patrushev, Bortnikov) and two from the armed forces, in particular the army (Gerasimov, Shoygu, both of them perhaps dragged in later against their better judgement). John Sweeney is an award-winning journalist and author, who brings a novel to the layman that truly confirms the Russian powers mindset - "Oderint dum metuant. It gives many detailed examples of his vindictive and controlling methods and how any criticism has put people’s live at risk.
