There were definitely points in the early chapters when I felt I was on the receiving end of an infodump. I loved the imagination that went into this book and have no idea how the author made up these ideas. The author is careful not to stretch or break the rules, and explains the magic system in a detailed and easy-to-understand way. It is a really great addition to books of these genres and one I know many children in our school will enjoy reading.
