She then went on to receive her MFA in Film and Video from CalArts where she snuck into Animation classes to learn from Disney and Dreamworks legends. The book is beautifully illustrated and the mini biographies of the black women is not too wordy so it's quite nice to read. Some names are known, some are not, but all of the women had a lasting effect on the fields they worked in. Not just for girls, this is an inspiring book for any child as it shows how a determined nature, ambition and hard work can make important change in the world.
