Each pack contains 10 shots of high quality credit-card sized photos that you can fit into a purse, wallet or mini photo frame. I’ve been testing this film too (I got mine two days ago) and am coming to pretty much the same conclusions so far even though I haven’t done as extensive a test as you did.

By the end of the session, while the novelty still hadn’t worn off, I was inwardly a little disappointed at the result. To be honest, because of all these variables and factors, I really recommend shooting in a highly controlled environment from the photographer or absolutely crappy weather. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. INSTAX Mini Monochrome not only opens up new artistic options, but also adds more ways to have fun using INSTAX cameras with family and friends, and at special places and events.

You may expect to get better images from a more advanced model, but I’m not sure even the 90 Neo Classic is all that much better. The film is an ISO 800 film–which means that it won’t have as much detail as an ISO 400, 100 or 200 emulsion. Works with: instax mini 9 | instax mini 70 | instax mini 90 | mini 40 and others, along with Lomography Lomo’Instant cameras. The new black and white film is an ISO 800 normal contrast film that can be tough to work with at times, but when you get it right, it really shines. Now, in addition to color, you now have the option to use black and white film to make the images even more stylized and fun.

However, it’s consistently inconsistent because the inconsistency is a result of imperfect colour mapping at the design stage, rather than the poor manufacturing tolerances that we see in other instant films today. The original film is what matters if you are showing those in person, but the scan is what counts if you are presenting online; and I can see more detail in enlarged scans than in the originals. I plan on pushing through with some more day time shots and different subjects to get a nice sample set to look at.This isn’t at all a fault of the film–it’s just that if I’m using the Diana F+’s pinhole camera mode, I’d also love to be able to look through the viewfinder when I attach a graduated ND filter to create a pinhole. In my uses, I decided to put this camera through the paces with portraiture and pinhole work–exactly what I’d use instant black and white film for to begin with.
