I can’t help but envisage this book in kitchens up and down the country, absolutely a-flutter with post-it notes, not just to signal those recipes earmarked for cooking in the future, but as a way of marking those already eaten with unflurried joy. The balance of vegetables is extremely good - the chicory/Belgian endive provides enough acidity to cut through the rich, sweet, earthiness of the other veg. I also cooked/boiled the potatoes first (and dropped the chopped carrots in with them for the last minute or so). An ode to the oven, Diana Henry’s latest offering delivers delectable dishes which are hassle free and packed full of grains, pulses and seasonal vegetables. Mr lilham and I both loved it, and the children loved the chicken but not a fan of the sweet potatoes.

Diana shows that, by letting the oven do the work, making a delicious meal need not be time consuming and complicated.I suspect that perhaps it is meant to be added to the garlic oil paste that you rub under the skin, but maybe it was a mistake. I probably wouldn't do the harissa yoghurt again unless I was serving it with roast butternut or something that would really be enhanced by it. Oh my - I usually bake rhubarb with orange but the addition of gin and rosemary took this to another level.

I would make this again but may spice it a bit more heavily and would check it after 30mins in the oven.I really liked the relish, and it was made of things I almost always have on hand (frozen pomegranate seeds are the best! If you're looking for vegan or gluten-free recipes, it's just a matter of hunting them out in the book (there is no index or special symbols). That said, all the extras helped make them palatable by adding sweetness, freshness and acidity, so if you DO like roasted radishes then this recipe would definitely be worth a go. From quick after-work suppers and light veggie meals to more substantial feasts to feed friends, these recipes are packed with full-on flavor. But we happened on some smoked salmon (only 4 oz, which was plenty for us in this since it has a strong flavor), so I went for it.

In that case I would recommend you start with one of Jamie Oliver "5 ingredients" cookbook just to get a feeling how to deal with food and work in a kitchen. I did not do individual papillotes but used a covered gratin dish for 15 minutes and then 5 more minutes uncovered. Even the boy enjoyed it, which is a huge deal as he had cross-country so was already not in the best of moods. You’ll venture into some uncommon ingredients in this book, but the preparation is really quite simple for most of the dishes, so acquiring the goods might be the most time you’ll spend. We use Google Analytics to see what pages are most visited, and where in the world visitors are visiting from. I gave the veggies a 20 minute head start in the oven before adding the chicken thighs and they all finished at the same time. The potatoes took closer to 45 mins before I added the fish, but that happens frequently in my oven.
