Redesigned, the Backpacker now features windows in the front quarter panels, allowing you to enjoy the morning sun and cathedral arch poles for extra strength. Overall the tent is ideal for our use ~ this year, we are hoping to use our holidays to cycle around our lovely country and camp in our Eurohike Backpacker Tent. The tent went inside, with USAF sleeping bag, shemagh, hat, mess kit, kettle, headtorch and spare batteries, roll mat strapped to the outside, and a fleece blanket to the top (just in case it got nippy in the night).

It's simple to erect, with outer first construction, followed by attaching the inner with toggle/loop and hooks.Yes it is lightweight although if you are ready to spend much more money You can fund much lighter tents.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Even with it's 'low spec' it's never leaked and the low profile means it's okay in windy conditions. On the coldest of the two night's, I did experience a lot of condensation on the inside of the inner tent, which dripped quite annoyingly on to myself and my kit in the morning! Stepping back to survey my new object it was with some satisfaction that for once I seem to have purchased so much for so little. Certainly no compensation for time or inconvenience (caused by them) other than a goodwill gesture discount on my next purchase, should I dare.With an inner made of breathable polyester, complete with fully taped seams, this tent also has a porch area for storage. I have used this tent 7 times and loving it, excellent for 1 person and will have reasonable room for 2 people. This weatherproof layer effectively sheds water and has a waterproof rating of 2000HH so you are sure to stay dry whatever the weather. Breathable polyester inner wall with mesh door - designed to keep insects out and manage condensation. The porch area is small but does have a groundsheet, unlike some superlight tents where all your gear has to sit on the wet grass and there's nowhere to take off your shoes.

The new and improved Backpacker Deluxe tent from Eurohike is the ideal outdoor shelter for a couple who enjoy trekking and hiking together. I didn't manage to take a photo until later in the evening, but here is an example of a complete toggle/loop, followed by a "loopless" toggle.I’ve taken this tent out a couple of times now and have been very impressed with how easy it is to set up and how rugged it is in rough weather! I needed a reasonably lightweight tent for a one-off cycle tour and did not want to spend the significant, three figure sum that top of the range tents retail for. During the night the wind changed direction and the tent not only stood up to it well, but was quiet despite flapping a bit.

Sits perfectly on there and the with the weight being fairly low and distributed well, it doesn't interfere with the balance of the bike. But, and this is a big but, you don't need to carry an additional protective groundsheet with this tent. Finally, it comes with a very useful size porch - sufficient to accommodate all of my cycle panniers. I'm certainly not rich , and when this cycle touring lark started for me, I didn't want to invest in expensive kit until I knew I liked it.The groundsheet is pretty bog standard but unless actually pitching in a puddle it should hold up pretty well. You quite often expect to get what you pay for when you go cheap, but on this occasion, it has surpassed my expectations.
