Either way, don’t let the branding on Winter’s Gold throw you off, and be sure to give it a try outside of its intended season! TASTING NOTES - Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold Single Malt Scotch Whisky's tasting notes include heather, dark chocolate, caramelised nuts and sweet, ripe fruits. Disputes that cannot be settled over multiple drams of whisky shall be solely submitted to the court of Amsterdam, The Netherlands unless mandatory applicable law provides otherwise. I drank Dalwhinnie Winter’s Gold straight from the freezer, with an extra dram at room temperature for comparison. A marriage of two first fill bourbon barrels of 11 year old Longmorn, yielding in an outturn of just 458 bottles.

Inspired by the brisk and remote Scottish climate where the single malt is crafted, this expression aptly named "Crafted by the Cold" is distilled solely from October to March. But this time I’m going to spar it with a review of its younger sibling, the 2015 NAS variant Dalwhinnie Winter’s Gold. Made in the highest and coldest working distillery in Scotland, with water from a loch at 2000 feet, Dalwhinnie whisky thrives on extreme conditions – creating a liquid as sweet and accessible as its highland home is remote. Please always read the labels, warnings, and directions provided with the product before using or consuming a product. We may sell, license, transfer, assign or in any other way dispose of the Service (including Members) to any third party without any notification to you, e. Winter's Gold is the ideal gift for someone looking for an introduction to Dalwhinnie and single malt scotch whiskies.

Having said that, you may rightfully wonder why you shouldn’t just start drinking at room temperature in the first place, as this produces the most flavourful dram. Exhibiting the classic heather-honey notes of classic Dalwhinnie, but with a welcome complexity of dried fruits and baking spices from the traditional sherry casks. There’s the tart taste of slightly unripe pear and a dash of lime, giving way to a more earthy profile that’s sweetened by a few drops of honey. We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. It enriches heathery, honeyed notes of the classic release with a rich sweetness and captivating spice. Our highly skilled team of engravers treat your message as a bottle decoration and individually align your message to provide the optimum design for the amount of space available. They mention that it's a great night cap, ideal as an after dinner liqueur, and a lovely drink to share with your closest friend. Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold is an innovative bottling from Diageo offering a different kind of whisky drinking experience.

Broad, firm, smooth and clean, yet with a compelling, sweet, honeyed, dessert character that suggests the indulgence to come. Winter’s Gold is in the same vein as the stands 15yo, with soft fruit and gentle heather-honey notes.Along the way, we sort of get the best of both worlds: the initial creamy smoothness of the cold version, and the more exuberant flavour profile of the Winter’s Gold at room temperature. Sitting at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Dalwhinnie opened in 1898 and is one of the highest-operating distilleries in Scotland. The Dalwhinnie Distillery is located in the Cairngorm National Park at the heart of the Scottish Highlands. It's made just with soul that has been refined amongst October and March, and strikingly enough, they propose that you take a stab at serving this expression solidified! An indulgent, honeyed Dalwhinnie that is comforting, rich and sweet, with notes of heather and peat and a spicy warmth. The idea of serving a dram chilled and having it slowly warm up as you’re drinking it is quite enticing. When I saw honey in contents I was a bit dubious as to sweetness but the burning warm sensation is wonderful. Anna is a fearless optimist and I surely felt like one while sipping this single malt made for freezer. Though labelled as a Highland whisky, Dalwhinnie is actually a Speysider that’s recognised for its well-balanced character of honey, malt and dried fruits. Matured in a refill sherry butt, a style the originating distillery is famous for, and bottled without chill-filtration or colouring.
