About this deal

Thankfully after testing the new version I don't detect any difference between this new version and the original. It quickly moves into lavender, clove and oakmoss giving it that classic 80's smoky masculine scent which is hit or miss depending on the wearer. Even though it has all kind of citrus fruits as top notes and is fresh, thanks to warm notes like nutmeg, cinnamon and other "spice-like" notes to me it smells more like a fall/winter and cold night fragrance. This brew lies somewhere between a classic citrus Eau de Cologne, and things like Bulgari and Gendarme that I categorize as clean, professional background scents. Beautiful, I own this vintage version, I love it deeply, a riot of freshness, but don't be fooled by the first sensations, its heart and above all the base is a masterpiece, I honestly don't know the current one but I can assure you that with this perfume you will be catapulted into an era where you were certainly not afraid to dare!

It's Armani's signature male fragrance, so you'd figure they'd step it up to make it more high-end instead of producing it as the weakest cheapest form of fragrance possible in a toilette. This is a bit of a mature and dressy scent, but is more youthful and a bit more timeless than something like Aramis for example. This one starts of VERY citrusy, so much it could almost hurt your nose, while still pleasant if you don't over-inhale.The soap and deodorant provide a smooth base for the magical cologne, and the aftershave balm finishes it with a powdery finesse, like a perfect gentleman. Its a nice enough fragrance but smelling it makes me crave for something much fresher, something like Armani's 1996 masterpiece, Acqua di Gio. Right now I smell green lemon, maybe petit grain which smells fresh springtime and very green - maybe a little sharp, that floral lily scent thickening it, and a tangy-ness which awakens the senses.

In the late 80's as a very young man, I made my first ever purchase of a fragrance and this was it, Armani Eau Pour Homme. Have both the old and new versions - in a side by side test, they did a pretty good job with the new one. This is one scent you will love to surround yourself with, I highly recommend trying these products if you are as infatuated with the scent as much as I am.
