Born in Sunderland, Jordan Henderson began his football career there before moving to Liverpool in 2011. Nonetheless, it was a fairly easy read and was naturally well written, given the strengths of King and Holt, so not a total dud.I’ve always said that the team and the fans come first, so to share my journey is also to be sharing theirs, but hopefully also to be giving readers an insight that they’ve not had before. Jordan Henderson is all of these things, and it is why he is one of the most widely respected players of his generation. In 2015, Jordan took the reins from Steven Gerrard, and under his captaincy Liverpool have won the Champions League and the Premier League - bringing the club its first league title in 30 years.

A relentless and inspiring presence, Henderson has lifted the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, Emirates FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Carabao Cup and FA Community Shield with his trademark ‘Hendo shuffle’ to cement his LFC legacy. There is also a real sense of his kindness and compassion to the players he leads and the staff at Liverpool, his great relationships with England colleagues and the sense he is a leader among Premier League captains. charts his career of more than a decade and counting at Anfield from when he first signed for the Reds in 2011, a spell that has included 463 appearances and seven trophies so far during his tenure as captain.

This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. Reading this whilst the team goes through a period of adversity just acts as a reminder of what this group of players and manager have overcame in the past, what they've already achieved together, and what they will achieve in the future. Whether his focus is on himself, on crucial moments during games or behind the scenes, or in exploring the impacts of the pandemic and politics on football over the last few years, there is a consistent honesty and insight which makes it a fascinating and inspiring book to read. I probably wouldn't recommend the book to friends there are better reads out there like didi hamman and Jamie carragher. The story of Jordan's journey from Sunderland to Liverpool, and becoming one of the most successful football leaders England has seen now available in paperback.

However, I’m not sure I truly learned anything about Henderson, nor the success of the Liverpool team in recent years. As an avid Liverpool fan - much to my parents' chagrin - for 21 years now, and after reading https://www. Calendar arrived safely in plastic-free packaging - which I've not seen before with a calendar, so kudos for that. Under his captaincy, Liverpool have reached monumental heights - winning six trophies headed by the Champions League and the Premier League, bringing the club its first league title in 30 years. In this, his first autobiography, Jordan reveals how an early love for the game as a kid became an all-consuming passion growing up in Sunderland and the moments and role models that encouraged him to follow his dream to play for his home club. Henderson is a player I admire and clearly a good leader and I appreciate the intention of touching upon topics like Covid-19, Black Lives Matter, the European Super League and the French authorities role in the events at the Champions League final. Outside the football pitch, Jordan's won plaudits for his support for the LGBT+ community and, during Covid, for the NHS, contributing towards his appointment of an MBE in 2021. In Jordan Henderson: The Autobiography he talks about his journey from growing up in Sunderland – with football his all-consuming passion as a kid – to becoming one of Liverpool’s most decorated captains.
