Se me hizo larguísimo y aburrido porque no entendí casi nada pues el audiolibro está grabado en inglés británico y a mí me cuesta mucho entenderlo además de que no me gustó la voz de la narradora. In 2017 she was announced as the new Waterstones' Children's Laureate, declaring that her aim will be to forge 'stronger links between the world of children’s literature and other art forms such as fine art, film, music, television and design. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. This is the jovial story of lovely Clarice Bean and her Family and her quest to spreading the joy of Christmas around. Haltet zusammen und lasst den Geist der Weihnacht zu und alles wird genauso wie man (Clarice) es sich wünscht.

She is a UNESCO Artist for Peace and a Trustee of the House of Illustration, and has an MBE for services to literature. She has been awarded an MBE for her work and was appointed as an Artist for Peace by Unesco in 2008. I never felt completely engaged but I could see this being a great book for children just starting to read chapter books. Also great for British Mums living in Aus as it brings back the cold British Christmas vibes as the children read it.

As was the calculating of exactly how many potatoes would be needed for Clarice’s perfect Christmas … oh and the turkey … and so many other beautifully crafted moments. Wrap yourself in the warmth and wit of former Children’s Laureate Lauren Child and be transported by the love and laughter that is Christmas with the utterly irreplaceable Clarice Bean. Just when Christmas stress seems at its most overwhelming, the love and joy of family and friends saves the day. Except this year it is going to be a quiet-ish Christmas in her house, which doesn’t feel right because Christmas is all about noisiness and being full up and FAMILY. And without those things, she is going to have to try exceptionordinarily hard to stop the Christmas spirit completely floating away…But luckily, there is no one in the world like Clarice Bean – and she is going to THINK LIKE AN ELF, and that means everything will be A-OKAY. Her first Charlie and Lola book, I Will Not Ever Never Eat a Tomato was listed in the top 10 Kate Greenaway Medal winners of all time. I did not know that this book existed and so when I ran across it I immediately bought it and read it well in advance of the Christmas season. And without those things, she is going to have to try exceptionordinarily hard to stop the Christmas spirit completely floating away. It was so good for me, I think I will read it in October every year as a little warm up for the Christmas season and to give myself a boost to keep the Christmas Spirit from evaporating.

I wish they would just stick to one style instead of mixing different elements that don't really match.

Her books have been made into an award-winning TV series and have sold in many languages with runaway success. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. She is joyful and hopeful and energetic without being stupidly sentimental; she is funny and real in her disappointments and worries but doesn't give up. It’s a lovely children’s book aimed at I would say 7-13 years old’s, written in a cheerful way, including plenty of gorgeous illustrations. Clarice weiß, es ist Weihnachten, wenn die Wichtelgeschirrtücher ausgepackt werden und die Weihnachtskarten eintrudeln.

The curiously clever preteen is back for “Clarice Bean: Think Like an Elf” for an all new Christmas tale for the ages. Lauren Child is at the peak of her game here, and Think Like an Elf is filled with all the warmth and humour we've come to expect. Perfect for getting 8 to 12 year olds in the Christmas spirit” was written in one review I read… well, it was perfect for getting this 39-year-old into the Christmas spirit! So many Christmas books are picture books, and I love them, but to have a middle-grade Christmas book, well, that's a treasure.
