In her spare time, you can find her surviving off iced coffee and sneaking in a few pages of her current read. But with each passing day, Beck’s dirty mouth and lingering stares make me question his motives—and mine. Black Ties and White Lies is a billionaire, fake relationship, forced proximity, and ex’s older brother novel and a complete standalone by Kat Singleton. Things don’t feel fake at all to Margo but Beck has a secret to hide and things aren’t as they seem. While others may find more enjoyment in this audiobook, I personally found myself unable to finish it.

I did find it kind of odd how much she pushed back at Beck so quickly without really knowing him yet, because I would’ve thought she would’ve been more intimidated at first. This book was so great - from the writing to the narration (Savannah Peachwood is awesome but I love me some Lee Samuels! This is an opportunity to establish herself on the art scene so she couldn’t possibly pass up the chance. Their actions and decisions often felt contrived and lacked the depth and authenticity required to fully invest in their journey.

He offers you to be his FAKE FIANCEEEE, but obviously, you'll refuse the ridiculous idea because you're YOU and say your ex's name. It all felt like the author saw a bunch of these quote videos on tiktok, decided to take the most viral ones into the book, throw sex scenes and publish it.

Margo had a bobblehead of Nash Pierce (from “Founded on Goodbye”) on her desk, and every time it was mentioned it made me so happy. Also what drove me mad were dialogues, to be specific - how men talked, cus they didn't talk, they GROWLED, ROARED, HISSED EVERY DAMN TIME THEY OPENED THEIR MOUTH wtf are they dogs?After her boyfriend of three years revealed himself to be a serial cheater, Margo cut off all contact – including to the mysterious and sexy brother she only met one time. On the contrary, he’s offering her the role of real assistant and fake fiancée in an attempt to clean up his playboy image… and he was willing to purchase a company to make that happen. The story follows Margo, a woman who is shocked to discover that her terrible ex’s older brother is her new boss. I love little nods to previous books by an author, and this was such a cute way of telling us that this book is set in the same universe as her other series. I was so excited to see the connection to Sutten Mountain, as I read the first book in that series in May, and now Camden’s story is coming!

The last couple of books were “ok” but this one kept my attention and has to be the 1st book I didn’t want to end🙃!These two arranged a fake relationship out of nowhere, for questionable reasons, and even had the "we need to set some rules" speech. Time flew by while reading this, and I didn’t want to put it down — additional thanks to how short the chapters were because I am a BIG fan of them LOL 👏 If this book interests you in any way, I definitely recommend it.

It was so good to read a story where neither party was traumatised, low on angst, and simply a beautiful but steamy romance.

Dispatched immediately and arrived safely from abroad faster than several items purchased at the same time in the UK! feels like this is gonna be very surface level and i don’t see myself connecting with either of the characters.
