When an old high school friend is murdered on the Côte d’Azur while auditioning for the hit TV travel show “Americans See Europe,” Maggie is forced to break away from village life and new motherhood to find the killer. They obviously like each other and some of their dialogue is very humorous, but Harry has issues to deal with before they can progress. I feel there's some good potential between the pair and look forward to seeing what they get up to next. That another murder has occurred doesn’t take much deducing: the knife sticking out of his back strongly suggests it was no accident.

Clear diction but considering so many make characters the narrators voice seemed almost the same for the narration plus the female characters and also the male ones. All of this makes her one of the best homicide DI’s; however, an unfortunate marriage to a bent cop has blighted her chances of promotion. In Murder in the Village, the first in the Belinda Penshurst series of mysteries, we meet Belinda Penshurt, who is a little over forty and living in her family home—the village manor/castle—in the village of Little Challham. The books are full of twists and turns, told with a directness and lack of unnecessary detail that makes them very easy to read.

Harry and Belinda work together to uncover the culprit, while investigating dognapping leading to pregnant thoroughbred dogs. I want to thank NetGalley and Joffe Books for forwarding to me a copy of this great book to read and enjoy.Greene solves it in a moment of brilliance but I had already guessed the murderer several chapters earlier.

This time, the new police superintendent is in charge – the man sent to Oxford from the Met in London.Intriguing storyline with extremely interesting characters that draw you and have you wanting to help them figure things out as well.
