Close to nature, but maybe because of that also for city dwellers like me like a small olfactory holiday! After a short while it does soften a little and you're left with this lovely pine forest and rosemary aroma which seems to last for ages, I could still smell it a good 10 hours after spraying and it stays on clothes even longer. It’s a real beauty, I would go so far as to say that it’s perhaps one of the best men’s fragrances currently on the market. Dirty Blue Leather, its a very odd pairing for a fragrance, it has some freshness up top but then it hits you with heavy dark tones right after, may not be as easy to process for casual noses, this is def not your typical casual daytime blue or freshie.

I was super excited to try this, as I'm a huge fan of the original Nuit d'Issey, but ultimately I was let down.It's hard to really say what I get from this it's not foresty, wet, or really that green to me its more of a fruity, herbal medicinal kind of smell but kept in a cider bottle ha it's not a love for me just a like. Rather than the sea, the name and bottle colour could be a reflection of blue-looking distant wooded hills on the horizon, which like this fragrance, are packed full of green woods and herbs. But I do think this is special in its own way idk why because it is very close to those ones I mentioned. With this one, the devil is in the details : L’Eau Bleue is herbal, aromatic, fresh and a tad medicinal with a cooling effect.

This smells about 70% like Nuit d'issey, so if you own that fragrance remove that incense smell from it and add some citrusy freshness and you will get this fragrance.Although a different scent entirely, this accord hints at another Jacques Cavallier creation, Opium pour homme.

The coriander, along with the less noticeable wood and leather, add a certain green woody-spicy depth and character to the fragrance, beautifying it even more without turning it heavy. L'eau Bleue is indeed "a grower"--meaning that for many, they may need to allow themselves time to grow into an appreciation of it, or otherwise miss out entirely on this one-of-a-kind gem.Could see where some people may like it, others can have different interpretations of what nature at night can smell like, this was not it for me. Inspired by the night and scents of nature, Nuit d'Issey Bleu Astral offers a "new olfactory journey" with aromas of lime, Russian coriander, skin and amber wood. Then it gets woodier, pine-cypress becomes obvious and the citrus fades a bit, this cypress note is really well made and never gets dull or boring in the deep drydown because the rosemary is still there, giving its effervescence and its spiciness, accompanied with some juniper, cedar. It's a very well blended fragrance in that I can't distinctly pick up on specific notes, except I do kind of smell the rosemary. Its a rainy day, feeling solemn for no discernable reason, lost in a wet pine forest with no sunshine.

He has a harmonious picture, which even after fourteen years after the appearance of the blue water, still appears completely contemporary and pleasant. I however would not find the same for the longevity, since two hours parting away I hardly detect any fragrance from this. I'm still getting my thoughts settled on this, there are things I like about it, but also things that I dislike about it. at everyone who passes you on the street, but nonetheless want to smell really nice and make a moderately classy impression when someone is close.It gets a bit rosier and woodier into its dry down, with the herbaceous quality persisting into its dry down, muskier, earthier, patchouli and cedar most prominent in the base. Before purchasing it, I read some older reviews from 2005-2010 and it seems to have been slightly reformulated, as the older reviews mostly describe it as being very strong and projecting – which I find no longer to be true as performance on my bottle produced in 2017 is moderate but adequate.
