Her Way also features my favorite trope, "Hot, crazy bad boy who everyone wants but he only has eyes for one woman" and I was 100% here for it. The writing is riveting, the plotline is superb and the characters are addictive! The first is to be the youngest leading ballerina in her academy. She will need unwavering dedication. No time for men. Unfortunately, her heart didn't get the memo, because her second secret want. . . is Max Butcher. This book was gritty, raw & emotional . The characters are both beautifully broken & still very much in love with each other when they end up in each others lives after 10 years has passed. The chemistry between the two is palpable. They literally complete each other-2 halves of a whole. I have so many words to say about this book but I find it hard to express how amazing it is. I won’t be giving any spoilers in this review because you just need to read it to believe it. I think I cried through the last 5 or so chapters. And I’m not a huge crier at all. I felt like the author completely tore me apart with her words. She made me feel like I was right their with them through this journey. I cried and laughed with them, I felt their sadness and pain. You will go through it all with them. I was so sad at the end, not because the book made me sad but because I could have read their story for days. I’m glad this isn’t the end of this series and we get Bronson’s story next. Just keeping my fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too long. One trope I can’t stand and avoid at all costs is the pregnancy trope. The pregnancy usually takes over the storyline, and the lovers seems to lose themselves and their spark and what makes them “them”, but I pushed through and I’m glad I did. The author made sure the characters stayed true to themselves throughout the whole story, and ya know what? I didn’t mind the pregnancy one bit! In fact, it added to the story in such a good way, and I wouldn’t change a thing!

This one was slightly darker than its predecessor and I really got a feel into just what Max’s life entails working in the district. We also get some questions finally answered some I guessed others I didn’t. We still don’t know everything but a picture has now started to form that is becoming clearer book by book. This is the first book of Nicci Harris’ that I have read. What have I been missing! This book was absolutely phenomenal, I could not put it down. Max, from the beginning, was an asshole, he knows he's an asshole, but he tries to be the person he knows he wants to be for Cassidy in their own way. once they are together, they don’t break up - he doesn’t leave her to protect her or anything like that

But there is more to Max Butcher than the cold, cruel facade he wears like armour. I know; I saw the broken boy inside him one day when we were only children. Where do I even begin with this review. This book left me speechless. I was so excited for the release of Bronson’s story and it did not disappoint at all, if anything it exceeded my expectations. Bronson's character somehow tells me he has a deep ache and profound grief that makes him mask himself with humor and sarcasm🥺🤧 I loved her relationship with her sister, and especially her best mate Tony: Oh my giddy Aunt: Tony had the best lines and banter I really loved their friendship. I also want to mention I really enjoyed the balletic details scattered throughout. It’s clear Nicci Harris is either a former dancer, or she just really put a lot of time into her research. Either way, brava! Max Butcher, notorious bad boy as the community knows him. He is not a relationship type of guy and is proud of it. He is known for his reputation of fighting/boxing. Will this all change when Cassidy comes into his life or will he keep her at an arm's distance. You know when you’re reading books and you have a few really good ones but then there’s the ones in between that are mediocre at best…THEN ALONG COMES THE ONE YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Yea that’s this book. The characters in "Our Thing" are charismatic with bold personalities that tug at your heartstrings. I quite enjoyed the contrast between Cassidy, the district's sweetheart, and the total alpha male vibe from the district's most notorious bad boy Max Butcher. "Our Thing" is good girl meets bad boy, District style and I loved every minute of it.

There’s a couple of twists, one I saw coming and one I didn’t. And that one ruined me. Like snot dribbling, ugly crying got me. And that friggin’ letter. I WAS A MESS!!! I could not stand the way Cassidy spoke. She sounded like a young teenager, which made the steamy parts of this book a little weird. Well, @author.nicciharris has done it again. This was my most highly anticipated release this year & it did NOT disappoint. We got to meet Bronson Butcher in the first two books of the Kids of the District series & his charisma instantly drew us in. This story follows Bronson & Shoshanna -their past & now. I knew this was going to be an emotional book before I started, but man oh man, I wasn’t ready for everything this sweet couple has endured.
