You even have places to attach fishing rod holders, although it appears that they aren’t positioned in the best place possible since if there are 2 of you in the boat facing inwards, someone will have the rods in their face. We bought a Story 3 panel kayak which we have used a number of times. The main issue we have with these 3 panel drop stitch kayaks are:

Although it is sold as a two-man sea fishing kayak, I would recommend it more for solo fishermen as it can feel quite cramped with two anglers! Personally I would always suggest grabbing an electric pump just to save you the time and effort of inflating any boat manually. If the water is cold, make sure you’re dressed appropriately in case you capsize (potentially wearing a wetsuit even if you don’t plan on getting in the water). Inflatable kayaks are great all-rounders, so it may be better to focus instead on what they can’t be used for. The pros and cons for the Ottowa solo kayak can also be applied equally to the tandem version of this kayak (remember, our beloved ‘Bismark’ we got from Europe is the same as the tandem version of the Aquatec). The simple construction makes the Riber very stable, even in choppy conditions, and fishing from it usually went without a hitch.

There is a ‘dry flap’ which offers some protection, but we would highly recommend a dry bag for personal belongings to keep them safe and secure. You also get a pressure gauge with the boat which is handy, especially if this is your first inflatable kayak and you want to be sure that you’re inflating it correctly. Also, if you plan on heading off on multi-day paddling trips then you may want to consider a hard shell option which you won’t have to re-inflate every day. Must Have Inflatable Kayak Features This is general guidance about how to fix a puncture on an inflatable kayak, but the best practice is to follow the manual instructions for your specific boat.

It’s a really nice ride. If you will mainly be paddling on flat water and want a stable kayak that glides a little more efficiently then this is the one to get. The overall build quality is excellent and there’s plenty of protection from the elements thanks to a large cover that zips over most of the opening. It certainly feels like it could handle the gnarliest of adventures with ease. The review is of the solo version of the Ottowa kayak. Networld sports also sell a larger, tandem version of this kayak which is longer and slightly wider. We do not, at the time of this review, own the AquaTec tandem version of the AquaTec kayak. However, we had for about 9 months before doing this review used a tandem kayak (which we christened ‘the Bismark’) which is essentially the same as the tandem version of the AquaTec kayak. We have therefore been able to draw comparisons between the solo and tandem versions of this kayak. We will be doing a separate review of the tandem version. Price If your idea of celebrating the warmest season is by taking to Britain's coastlines and waterways, an inflatable kayak could be your perfect companion this summer. You should read up on displacement (specifically width and length displacement) to find out more about why the length and width of your kayak will influence how stable it it.

AquaTec Kayak Paddles

the seating position seems to be too far forward in the Story (which is a solo kayak) meaning that there no enough leg room (the seat straps will only allow adjustment of the seating position so far)

It can only be used solo. Some kayaks are big enough to be used tandem but not so big that they cannot be used solo (eg, Itiwit X100) although there is always a trade off when paddling such kayaks solo. With the AquaTec kayaks, you can use the tandem as a solo kayak by attaching the seat near to the middle and indeed I have used the ‘Bismark’ solo a number of times. However, at 440cm long, 90cm wide and about 19kg in weight (just the kayak), the tandem is in our view not well suited to solo use. The clear to start with question is what variety of kayaking will you do? Basically there is certainly river, lake, and sea kayaking. River kayaks are extremely brief and challenging boats meant for maneuverability plus the abuse of whitewater rapids. Sea kayaks are sleek and light and are built for cruising. Then you'll find basic kayaks that could be applied on sea lakes. Dai used the Aquatec and he was of a similar view to Archie, namely, that it was stable and fast, the downsides being that it was affected the strong winds we had that day (as are all inflatables). The Ottowa coped OK with the rough tidal races we encountered around St Govans Head However if you want to go further faster and cut through the water smoothly with a super rigid and portable inflatable kayak I would highly recommend the Razorlite. It comes in a solo or a tandem version. Not only do you get 2 adjustable and attachable inflatable seats, but also a booster seat to raise it should you need to.

AquaTec Paddle Board Paddles

I used to own two of these and they lasted many years due to being very hardwearing and my daughter also got plenty of use from them. Some features to point out is the presence of the ever reliable Boston valve, a removable skeg for directional stability at least and grab handles to keep your balance as you fish.
