We also get to see Elliot and Noah’s second and third dates, the second is beautiful but the third ends up with Noah getting very drunk and asking questions that Elliot doesn’t really want to answer so he leaves. For a while the real Elliot and the imposter talk and when Zhang arrives for Elliot’s decision they give different answers but the copycat leads Zhang to what she wants which is good for the real Elliot as he gets the medication he needs but he has sacrificed his only chance of finding out what happened to Sam in his childhood. and certainly is a violation of all kinds of privacy laws and ethics and common sense as a therapist plus lots of poor judgement in handling some very difficult situations (which do come up in real life) with could certainly cause this lose his ability to practice. Harper hears slowly start to come together, he begins to uncover information about a potential pedophile ring. This book is crazy, weird, flawed, unique and words are just not sufficient enough to describe it adequately.

How interesting of a concept to get to peak inside patient files, even if they are fiction, and read from that aspect of the story. There just are no words to convey the depth of my confusion relative to the stellar ratings on this book. Harper’s character is more of a flawed hero who’s job description fits more within the realm of a private investigator, detective, investigative journalist or ghost buster.

If you're looking for a very quick read that doesn't require the use of a single brain cell to process the story or information - read this book.

Even though the fine details of this book don’t pass the whiff test, it was a quick read that kept my attention throughout and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.The second patient file belongs to Don, a prisoner who is there because he intentionally infected people with HIV and Elliot tries to help him only to be attacked and injected with Don’s blood meaning he has a high chance of getting HIV unless he gets the proper medication. He approaches Elliot and asks him to build him a conscience as there is someone within the prisoner trying to manipulate him into killing again. The style of writing is different and eye-catching, it's invigorating and mysterious and in places has some rather dark humour. Like a compilation of real life situations with extravagant actions to make one big, scary and dramatic effect on the public. I apparently didn't leave a review for the first back in 2019, but I did rate it 5 stars, and I definitely stand by that rating.
