While driving home with his young son, Joe Lynch spies his wife’s Melisa’s car turn into a hotel parking lot. Ben is a charming, highly successful, and wealthy businessman known for his ruthless competitiveness.

As i as was reading this book i thought i had a pretty good idea on what was going on, on who was to blame and the how the story was going to end. His wife, who he has always trusted implicitly, has proven that she can’t be trusted, and his world rocked. It's intense, insane, enthralling, and the chapters literally whiz by, helped massively by the fact that one chapter blends SO seamlessly into the next one that you just can't help but keep reading, until your eyes are incredibly sore because you've been starting at your Kindle screen for over 4 hours. Twisted, dark, heart-pounding, deceptive, distorted fun—do not start this book if you don’t have time to stay up late into the night reading it! And the inclusion of a mini-cliffhanger at the conclusion of almost every chapter made it difficult to put down.

Stacy Willingham’s masterful use of dual timelines adds intrigue and atmosphere to this compelling mystery, while her immersive writing draws readers into our protagonist’s increasingly unstable state of mind. Cranks up the suspense, tension, complications, revelations and twists to create a gripping, dramatic and exciting ending . While the premise of the book was interesting, it is also one that has been done many times over so I was looking for it to stand out in some way.

Joe Lynch is just an ordinary happily-married man - until one split-second decision throws his life into crisis. Before Joe confronted the other man in an altercation where he left him for dead, bleeding and unconscious.

THAT moment when you see or know something that you would kill not too and your heart and gut just drop. I’m pretty sure I say this every year, but 2022 has truly been another outstanding year for crime fiction readers. I think we know the answer to those questions, and Joe definitely knew the answer to two of these questions.

lies, and he goes down the rabbit hole trying to uncover just what - if anything - in his life is as he believed it to be. If you loved the movie Ready or Not or Jessica Knoll’s psychological thriller Luckiest Girl Alive, you’ll love Catherine Steadman’s THE FAMILY GAME.Much of LIES develops as we would expect it to: in the fallout of this troubling encounter, Joe discovers that everything he holds dearest in his life might be based on (true to the book’s title!
