One of the most wonderful aspects of travel is the opportunity to experience the variety of people and places we encounter along our journeys. This wine is best served on its own at room temperature or chilled to bring out the best flavours and texture.

Our expert wine makers have skilfully blended a superb S panishT empranillo red wine and premium chocolate flavour , to create a luxuriously indulgent after-dinner treat. I was curious as to how this would taste as it sounded like the perfect pairing but was unsure how it worked as a wine. The fortified red wine is finally blended with chocolate essences and the producers of Rubis seem to have got the recipe just right! The beans were ground and often mixed with water, chillies, honey or spices and fermented into cacao wine.

Darkly decadent SPANISH TEMPRANILLO GRAPES AND PRECIOUS ESSENCE OF CACAO COME TOGETHER TO CREATE A taste experience TO SURPRISE AND DELIGHT THE SENSES. If you are feeling naughty then why not drizzle it over ice-cream to bring a new element to your desert. IF you've got a sweet tooth and like unusual pairings you might want try Morrisons' new chocolate flavoured wine.

Rubis Chocolate Wine is probably one of the sweetest chocolate flavoured English wine available in the market. If you do require precise ingredient information you should consult the manufacturer, whose contact details will appear on the packaging or label.

Elsewhere, we found The Chocolate Block red wine at Waitrose, which is a red wine with "chocolatey notes". It uses the best tempranillo grapes from the centre of Spain and velvety premium dark chocolate to give Rubis its bold fruity and chocolatey flavours. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Ocado Limited's prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. The chocolate cannot be missed but it manages not to be overpowering and the taste is utter pleasure. Their ancient wisdom and famous cacao infusions was the gateway to Rubis as they blended precious seeds with great care to create this indulgent and potent wine.

Rubis Chocolate Wine Liqueur is a good partner to chocolates (experiment with milk or dark chocolates) and any chocolate-based desserts, puddings or cakes. Cacao was not easy to source near Court as it grew in the south amongst the Mayan lowlands and because of this, the drink was usually served to people of high society standing such as Nobles or Warriors and presented at the end of Banquets. The red wine base is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes sourced from the wine growing region of La Mancha in central Spain. Rich plum, cherry, dark fruits with a touch of oak and a smattering of cloves and that velvety rich deep dark chocolate gliding over the tongue. It can also be used as a cooking ingredient and could be substituted for Port or Sherry in recipes – I can imagine it in a chocolate trifle of some sort. The palate is quite complex and has more red fruit and rich, dark, chocolate flavours with is a touch of spice at the back of the palate. Before the person was sacrificed, they were given cacao drinks mixed with human blood to prepare them as an offering to the Gods. The wine is made in the usual way: grapes are harvested, pressed and fermented and then the wine is “fortified” with a neutral alcohol spirit (a very basic grape brandy).
