At one point she makes it clear that she is not ready/willing to have a child with him yet and that she wants birth control and his response is to cuff her to his bed and forcefully inseminate her multiple times over a 24 hour period without letting her up for any reason. The most impressive thing about this book is how the author managed to take a book with such potential and absolutely ruin it.The pain and suffering Thalia had to suffer from the hands of her father for a flaw (colur blind) he couldn't get over and to have the one person she could trust taken away from her she had to learn how to be strong and when her and Calix finally reunited at her wedding day no less there is where there story took off and became a gripping story or distrust,loyalty,friendship and love that was so consuming that it can either make them stronger together or break them apart. I really enjoyed watching them both grow up and into themselves, learning about Thalia’s upbringing and what brought them both together.

If they actually talk through things and some major changes are made in book 2, I might still find the overall story enjoyable. Christian gives me weird vibes and I’m not sure if I think he is genuine or not, I think calix was harsh to brand his hand for grabbing Thalia but I get why he feels he needs to be so harsh given how he previous lost Thalia.
