Description

The characters are flat with exaggerated traits and the lack of backstory makes it even more difficult to care. After the Cures angered her, she released her final power, transforming into a giant demon-bat like creature with extreme power, strength and agility. Combining this with a Chaos Witch hero with the Shadow Hex and Mortii Life talents you all of a sudden have a pretty good, and very easy to get, hero-killing deck. As a Billy bonus, they’re also family and doggie friendly 🐾 which I’m sure brings a great sigh of relief to you pooch parents! Honestly, it was very lackluster, and I'm wondering if Nora's heart was really in this one, or if she was just so busy in her personal life that she just dashed this one off quick so she could get back to it.

Robert’s goes into heavy detail, making sure we understand all that has happened to lead us to this point in time. Ultimately, they’re separated not by time or physical remoteness but by emotional distance—Elliot and Macy always kept their relationship casual because they went to different schools. They sense the coming storm but know it will take three of them to form the bond that will defeat it. By the time we arrive in present-day Ireland, I found myself engrossed in the urgency of the fight to protect the Dark Witch’s power.

On the other side, I loved the way that Connor and Fin dealt with Boyle and made fun of his idiocy as only guys can do. Once she arrives, she is swept up in to a whirlwind of magic, drama, intrigue and a war that started hundreds of years ago. The Legend of Dark Witch 2 retains its simple controls and enough challenges to satisfy the completist. She's sold off almost all her possessions and moved to this beautiful and magical country to learn her ancestry and find who she is and where she belongs. She's found her dream job of working with horses; she's moved into her cousins', Branna and Connor's house. In 1995, she began writing a police procedural series featuring Eve Dallas, a NY homicide cop, and set in the near future under the J.

Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my love of Robert’s previous forays into Ireland, The Gallaghers of Ardmore and Concannon Sisters series.

Iona realizes that here she can make a home for herself--and live her life as she wants, even if that means falling head over heels for Boyle. Her beloved Nan has directed her to County Mayo and the cousins she has there after filling her ears and imagination with tales of magic and family legends of an ancient, evil enemy. Indeed, although it's accessible for all, if you're a horsey person Iona spends a lot of her time around them. It's also pretty interesting for those of us that already have many of her stories already read on our shelves.

In the first, Macy Sorensen meets and falls in love with the boy next door, Elliot Petropoulos, in the closet of her dad’s vacation home, where they hide out to discuss their favorite books. Just dropped in early evening for a snack as we had eaten for lunch and found ourselves not wanting to leave! Connor was approachable but Meara was so boring, I kept hoping she would be killed off at some point as a casualty of war. I think this mostly has to do with the romantic pairing in this particular story, as I found both Iona and Boyle a tad lacking in character depth and general likeability. Roberts’ writing is just atmospheric enough to make you want to run away to the Emerald Isle, without being overly descriptive.

Of course it won't be all smooth sailing on either the romance or magick front (where would the suspense be then), but the description of the Irish village, the fun friends engage in, the descriptions of the historical monuments and scenery all engage the reader. The horse, big and beautiful at easily sixteen hands, tested his rider with the occasional buck and dance, and even with the distance, she could see the fierce gleam in his eyes.
