Description

It was really good to hear Numan back on form and the following tour was also successful, the only downside was that it took 6 years for a follow up.

This album is absolutely brilliant from start to finish, this is Gary Numan at the very top of his game. It’s interesting that this was produced just after Trent was loudly acknowledging the debt he owed Numan, and the influence comes full circle. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.

But this has so much pure Numan DNA in its tracks that simply makes clear how organic the progression from Numan’s early electronica through NIN’s industrial sound to reach this CD actually is. The songs are exellent - some of the lyrics are searing, and combined with a much more 'heavy' style of music, the results are awesome - you can feel the rage and the pain that the lyrics project. Filled with pumping beats and guitars that sound like straight from a machine, “Pure” is an intense musical journey from start to finish. For years now Gary has been experimenting with audio sound scape and this is his pinacle so far - there is a new album on the way soon. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. This was released at a time when NIN wannabes were becoming extremely tedious, and think it suffered by an unfair association with those uninspired imitations. In the year of the millennium 2000, the British cult musician released his fourteenth studio album “Pure”, which, with its mix of gloomy doomsday sounds and hard guitar staccato, finds it roots in the genres of industrial and gothic rock.

This album is fabulous listened to in the dark it really is very atmospheric and I can't recommend it highly enough. A se procurer sans hésitation pour compléter votre collection et si vous n'avez pas la version CD, la question ne se pose même pas ! An album to listen to on a dark cold night, with the volume turned up and the weight of the world on your shoulders. The song goes from quiet to loud and back to quiet again and features whispered vocals and a big epic chorus. Filled with pumping beats and guitars that sound like straight from a machine, Pure is an intense musical journey from start to finish.

While both "Sacrifice" and "Exile" are good albums that helped bring Gary some long awaited credibility "pure" is the album that it all came together.

I like all of the tracks on this album ,but if I had to pull out a favourite it would be either the first track "Pure" or the album closer "I can't breathe. A un degré moindre, Gary Numan amorce un virage complet et revient à un son, certes électronique mais le message est clair , les années 2000 seront gothiques. Like another user mentioned, I can hear little samples and keyboard parts on the vinyl version that I've never heard once on the CD.
