Very interesting is listening to Spielberg share his thoughts on giving creators his input while in the middle of filming 'Schindler's List. The cardboard slipcover is kept closed with a Velcro dot, and once opened, owners can read a breakdown on the supplemental material available. Likewise, improved brightness levels shower the 2160p video with inky, midnight blacks and rich, penetrating shadows, providing the transfer is a lovely cinematic appeal that almost feels like watching the movie for the first time again. These differences are surely less noticeable when consuming these three versions on their own, but it’s easy to see what version an audience may prefer when comparing them in this format. Perhaps the most important aspect to note in the differences between the Blu-ray versions is the realism of the dinosaurs.

Jurassic Park Blu-ray (20th Anniversary Edition) Jurassic Park Blu-ray (20th Anniversary Edition)

With the majority of the film taking place in a jungle setting, the entire system is almost-always alive and kicking with various sounds of birds, creatures and movement amongst the trees, creating an awesome hemispheric soundscape that surrounds the listener. Of great interest is learning where the sounds of the dinosaurs originate, seeing some of the animatics, and how Winston's team made the dinosaurs come alive. All the same supplements are ported over from previous home video release, which can be read in more detail in our review of the standard Blu-ray HERE for the original trilogy and HERE for the third sequel. Thankfully, the CG visuals hold up shockingly well, but every once in a while, they seem a bit blurrier than before while there is also some minor ringing around the edges of random objects and buildings. While the noticeable color differences in the film may bother some, it is clear that this is not a deal breaker for the success of the Jurassic Park franchise. The plot is just engaging enough to maintain our attention while being overwhelmed by the visionary and spectacular visuals. Almost 20 years after its inception, the Jurassic Park Trilogy remains an unmatched cinematic experience. The story is crafted to build the tension in layers, without ever seeming forced or going over the top.

There are no extras on the UHD disc; the included Blu-ray houses everything, all of which has been available before. Specular highlights are not the most impressive with some the hottest spots lacking the sort of clarity we've come to expect of the still relatively new format. He doesn’t layer on the schmaltz at all, indeed there is genuine peril to the children and everyone gets their just desserts (excepting Sammy Jackson, who just disappeared). The CG is fairly low resolution by today's standards and appears slightly soft, but the 4K disc is a clear upgrade over the Blu-ray, and Spielberg's dino-classic has never looked better.

Colours are that much richer, the greens of the fauna, the yellows of the jeeps and the blues of the skies are that much more vivid, while skin tones are clean and realistic.

Jurassic Park: Trilogy Collection/Jurassic World Ultra HD Blu Jurassic Park: Trilogy Collection/Jurassic World Ultra HD Blu

Celebrating twenty-five years since the first movie crashed into theaters, Universal Studios Home Entertainment brings all four films to Ultra HD as an eight-disc limited edition combo set. Special Features: Includes a digital copy of Jurassic World (Digital Copy redemption code subject to expiration. When mayhem expectedly ensues, the object-based track really comes alive with the dinosaurs wreaking havoc upon the park, such as the pterodactyls flying across the overheads, from front to back and vice versa, descending upon unsuspecting visitors. The score makes full use of all the speakers, while dialogue remains clean and precise and is never lost in the mix. The Lost World, which shares only a title with the novel by the late Michael Crichton, doesn't necessarily try to repeat the success of its predecessor, but it clearly wants to relive the same sense of wonder and exhilaration.

Jurassic Park' continues to capture our imagination and serves as proof of what Hollywood magic can truly deliver.
